John Henry's Painting

When all was said and done, the work was done to my satisfaction, however.... One of the major points that I stressed from the beginning was the need to check the caulking, remove any failing caulk and replace any and all caulk, fill cracks, etc. Well, his crew totally skipped this important step. John reminded them daily, but it took my inspection and persistence at the end of the job to get it done. John was more than willing to see that it finally did get done and found additional spots that I had missed, but this neglect was a major frustration. Another disappointment was damage done to plants that, with more care and concern, could have been avoided by the crew. Stain was spilled on the driveway and then tracked around on more of it and, although they scraped and washed it pretty well, it is unsightly. John was generously willing to reseal the recently sealed asphalt, but I declined since we both thought that it would soon even out with rains and traffic. It hasn't, so, in hindsight, I certainly wish that I had taken him up on his offer. Stain was dripped and tracked on the decks as well. To their credit, a lot of prep was necessary on the house before staining which was all done well. The crew was friendly, John was accommodating, and the final work seems well done, but we did experience some unnecessary disappointments. We are undecided whether we would hire them again in the future.

It went great both times i have John paint my 2 homes.
This time it was my new home and the construction paint was a major challenge and John knew exactly how to handle all the rough spots (some he simply fixed), some of the drywall nicks (again he fixed them so they were invisible), caulking gaps (again he caulked everything including my crown molding, stairs, floors, and anywhere he saw a problem), and re-painted all the walls until he was satisfied.  He had to put several coats of paint when we used the dark colors.  He is very particular in his own work and in his team.  He inspects all work with a critical eye and makes everything look great.  He also suggests colors and his choices are really good.  I have used John a couple times and am very pleased with his work and his meticulousness as I also have a critical eye.
I recommend John Henry to anybody who needs a high quality paint job that is really good at a reasonable price.

I was extremely pleased with the job done by John Henry painters. The crew of three were outstanding. They showed up when I was told they would, they worked from morning until evening (even in 90 degree heat) until the job was done. They were efficient and respectable and cleaned up when they were done. All for a very reasonable price. My house looks great and when I have another job to do I will definitely use them again.

I found John Henry's from Angie's List. I called John in mid June for a quote for painting the exterior of my house. He was upfront with me that the earliest he could get it done was mid July. He came by as scheduled and gave me a quote. The price was very reasonable. I signed with him on the agreement that the job will be done by July 18. John Henry's crew worked three full days in 90+ degree heat (it just turned out that the midwest and the Milwaukee area had a heatwave July 16-18), got the job done as promised. They did a great job. They even offered to clean my skylight windows while they were up on the roof. I am one very satisfied customer and would highly recommend John Henry's service.

They did an excellent job.

Despite a rainy April this spring, John Henry and crew accomplished their work within five weekdays, over two week's time. I was immediately impressed with their thoroughness from the beginning of the task through its completion. Surface preparation was extremely time-consuming, more so than the spray painting, along with lots of detailed brushwork. From the start they met my expectations as cedar siding specialists. The crew did a good deal of re-scraping and re-brushing, showing an impressive care for detail, with considerably more attention than two prior paintings over the 20+ years that we have lived in this house. Again, because of unusual design elements, much masking was required so a lot of plastic sheeting was carefully taped, well beyond the requirements of more conventional houses. Care about detail was further evident day-by-day, as materials and equipment were stored and clean-up took place. Plantings around the foundation were covered regularly. Light fixtures and the like were well cared for and replaced at the end of the project. John Henry is personable, supervises his crew well and regularly takes the time to communicate, before, during, and after the project. They all even got along with the dog. Considering two prior house-painting experiences at this address, I can emphatically say that I could not be more pleased at this outcome. John Henry Painting has my very high recommendation.
