I had 2 men here, one was newly hired and in training. The basement was evaluated, questions were asked on the history of the basement. I advised work was being done, having the drive mud jacked just before he arrived and explained other areas will be addressed as well this year. Measurements were taken of the basement and a report was created. I inquired about the attic area as it is complex with 4 cathedral areas separated by traditional attic. Information given on the attic was limited. The final report was for the basement only. He added costs for areas that need to be addressed such as soil grading to the small area in front of our home where it was just mud jacked. The cost was estimated over $1000 and the patio area that we were going to have mud jacked the cost estimate was over $5000. These estimates were extremely high as we had both areas done shortly after as stated, for under $2000. The time here was less than 1.5 hours. They were very pleasant, very quick to schedule and very professional. The basement was deemed structurally sound. Very reassuring to us to hear and have documented.

It was just the basement, not a whole house inspection.

We hired a structural engineer even after our home inspector said he didn't notice anything about the wall. Due to FHA financing, the under writer wanted to see a report about the structural report, due to us writing that in as a contingency on a home offer.
It went well. It was completed in an  hour. The engineer was thorough and explained everything in an understanding way. He gave the pros and cons about the support wall structure and saved us from buying a home that would need structural improvements! Highly recommend for those who are in need of a second opinion.

They were able to get into our home quickly to give us a structural report of the basement. We needed this information quickly as we were in the process of selling our house and many buyers were questioning the 100+ yr old basement. They were able to schedule us sooner than we thought which was fantastic. At this point I would have given them an and quot;Aand quot; rating. However, we told him we specifically needed the report electronically because we had already relocated out of state. When we didn't have the report after a few days we followed up with phone calls but did not hear anything back. About a month afterward the report was recieved in the mail. Long after necessary. At this point, we had a buyer and no longer needed the report. Regardless, we paid for the services provided.

Jendusa was thorough and professional. Both contractors that I had come out to give me estimates used the Jendusa report and were happy to have it.

Jendusa rep arrived on time. Did have to punch several tiny holes in finished drywall in the basement. I my case the bulging wall was not severe, and a longer inspection period was not needed. Inspection and fix were quite straightforward. They gave me and basic idea of the type of fix I was up against, and a list of contractors with experience of that type of repair. When time came to select a contractor I did my research based mostly on Angie list and on looking at those contractors which had experience with steel beam reinforcement of block walls. Subsequent fix was fully and easily passed by the local, strict building inspectors here in Shorewood.

The engineer appeared knowledgeable and competent. The report was what we needed to proceed in our real estate transaction.
There was miscommunication with the engineer about the time-frame that we needed this report completed for our real estate transaction. When arranging the appt (and after discussing with the inspector at the appt), we were under the impression we would get the report in 1-2 days. We got the report the following week. Wouldn't have been a big deal, except we had a deadline approaching in our own real estate contract.
The price was higher than anticipated. They stated they charge $150 per hour and they also charge for drive time.

The estimated time spent performing the assessment, writing it up, trravel time and estimated cost were all head-on. I had made his job easier by moving furniture and other items away from the basement walls so he had a better view of anything that may have been of question. He spent about 45 minutes inspecting the basement, prior to which he had asked if we had any specific concerns (we did, and he addressed them appropriately). He wrote out and went over his findings with us. Additionally, he provided a lot of information on various contractors and Q and A information.
We were very pleased with his assessment of our basement. It allowed us to have an independent outside opinion on what was wrong (and what was right) with the structural integrity of our basement. This allowed us to proceed with procuring estimates with an educated understanding of what was needed. We know that it saved up at least $10.000.
We would highly recommend Judusa to anyone needing an independent assessment of their basement's structural integrity.

The engineer provided a detailed report of work that needed to be done to bring my home foundation up to standards. The report included a independent cost estimate. I was able to use this report to tell if the contractors I had give me estimates were being honest or not.I recommend Jendusa Engineering, it gave me confidence in dealing with contractors.

The Jendusa engineer inspected the structural soundness of the foundation walls and also the causes of the water damage/issue. He recommended bracing the walls in a few places (because they had moved) and installing a drain tile system to fix the water leakage. He also took measurements of the basement and documented everything in detail in a written report.
