Working with Croix River Construction was a positive experience on all fronts. Paul and his team are good at what they do, professional, and very nice! They tore down our stand-alone, falling-apart garage and built a bigger, better garage in its place. Paul made sure the new garage would match our home perfectly, and provided quality materials and workmanship. It was a big project and Croix River were easy to work with, reliable, flexible, and fairly priced. In addition to the new garage, they installed a new concrete driveway, created a slope for it, and added fill to elevate the garage-floor height (which some companies weren't able or willing to do). They also graded around the house and redid some of our concrete sidewalks. It's two years later and the concrete work is holding up well. All of it is. Highly recommended, and nice people.

The project got started in the fall of 2018, and I had a place inside to park shortly after Christmas. Discussing the project with Paul he had very good suggestions that improved my overall plan and I’m very happy with the finished product. His crews were great guys to work with.

Paul and his team did an outstanding job of constructing what is now our favorite part of the house. We love all of the features. They did a great job of discussing options and created a plan for what we wanted. They excavated a full basement and built a large room with in-floor heat, hickory flooring, vaulted knotty pine ceiling, air conditioning, a food pantry storage and nice large windows that let light in. They also built a laundry / mud room area adjacent to the porch area. Landscaping outside of the addition has been great; with no water problems (we had some before the addition was added). Pavers outside of a sliding glass door really complement the addition. Paul is wonderful to work with. He resolves issues and goes out of his way to understand and relate to us.

Good. This wasn't your run-of-the-mill garage that some companies specialize in. The project was complicated because it is on a ravine. Paul was always helpful and responsive. Project started in May, finished in August. Quality if top notch. I'd recommend Paul, particularly for garages that are a bit more complicated.

The job went very well. We had a lot of rain when they were doing the foundation which slowed the project, but they were back at work as soon as it was dry enough to resume. Each contract that Paul had work on the project were knowledgeable on their part of the project and did excellent work. Each inspector that reviewed their work reported to me that the work was excellent and one indicated if he could recommend the contractor, he would. But he is not allowed to make recommendations. My requirement was that the siding on the garage match the house. The builders did an excellent job on the match, exceeding the siding and corners on the house. All the guys were great to have around, but the builders were exceptional. The neighbors driving by remarked on the politeness and good work being done. The guy that did the demolition of the old garage walked the alley looking for nails several times. I did the same after he left and neighbors also checked and none of us found any nails. Each stage of the process the contractors cleaned up their mess and left the area neat.

The construction went smoothly (wish we had better weather for the project as it was too rainy last summer). The construction crew was accommodating and offered may great suggestions. Crews were scheduled on time and appropriately finished the job as the time permitted. The contractor was very accommodating and worked for us, the customer, vs working for his sub-contractors. He was available and there when we needed. He handled paying the sub-contractors and ensuring they got the work completed.

This was a tricky project and I called around a lot to different outfits, a lot of planning involved.. Paul specializes in off-the-beaten path garage projects, so we hit it off. My construction location was challenging because it is large ravine essentially. Paul has good communication, we figured out a plan and went for it, results are great. I had Paul on text and during critical points we'd talk every day. Communication with him is good. Would use again.

Very well. Paul is very easy to work with. He uses very good sub-contractors. They provided very good quality work. I am extremely pleased with the final garage. I asked him to have the concrete sub-contractor to come back and clean up some waste concrete left by the big concrete truck and they did it without complaint and cleaned up the mess - no complaints no arguments. Paul always returned my calls and responded to my text messages & emails promptly - almost always within 24 hours. The bid was slightly more than another contractor who I talked to; but still competitive and a reasonable cost for what I wanted. I am already talking to Paul about a different project - this was much less painful than other construction projects that I have had done at my house.

I’d like to recognize and recommend Paul Ellefson of Croix River Construction (as well as the crew he uses to build). Their craftsmanship is second to none. I had a 24’ x 40’ detached garage built to match the architectural design and color scheme of our home, and had a driveway/apron installed; they absolutely knocked it out of the park and went above and beyond in building for us. Paul was very prompt, attentive, and payed close attention to detail in how we wished to design our project. He went the extra mile for us, and didn’t cut any corners. Actually, he had thought of a few things I hadn’t thought of when planning this project and didn’t charge extra to incorporate them. Paul was also the only contractor we’d contacted that guaranteed his bid to be at cost or less. (which was a nice selling point to the wife when we discovered this project would be more expensive than we were originally thinking). We chose Paul initially from the online reviews that I had read and was hoping that he would be the one we would build with; however, I did my due diligence and had a couple other companies bid out the job. The estimates we received were fairly close to eachother, and we felt most comfortable going with Paul. When bidding the job, Paul said he’d known his crew for 20+ years and was very happy with their work. I can’t speak highly enough to their work ethic, ability, and personality. The gentleman that installed our garage doors was also a general contractor, and was so impressed with the work of this garage he was blown away and almost giddy. To paraphrase him, he said “they did an amazing job. I wish they all built them like this. The whole building isn’t even 1/16th of an inch out of square…” I was home for much of the time that they were building it, and was able to get to know his guys. We’re so happy with how things turned out that we are choosing to have the guys over for a party in recognition for their efforts. We plan to use Paul and his crew to finish our lower level of the house, and my parents will use him in an upcoming project of theirs. See you soon, Paul! -Mike G.

I worked with Paul to design a new garage that would fit my needs. Paul's crew was great to work with - always polite, professional, honest and hardworking. In the end I was extremely happy with my new garage and have had compliments from the neighbors as well. I would definitely recommend Croix River Construction to my family, friends and would use them again myself.

We first contacted Paul (after finding him on Angie's list) in November 2013. He was so pleasant and easy to talk to. He told us flat out that he could get a slab in before the winter but could not start framing until January 2014. We opted to wait until the spring of 2014 to build the garage.

Paul met with us in the spring and we talked through several options for reconstructing the backyard of our home. We finally settled on tearing out the old garage and driveway then building the oversized 2 car garage.

Not everything went smoothly. Due to all the rain we had, the concrete guys got a little backed up and it delayed the project a bit. Paul was very good at keeping us informed and calm when we got a little frazzled. Thank you, Paul! :)

In the end it is all we wanted and then some. My husband is very happy. We have more green space in the backyard and the dog is very happy about that! I have a safe, warm garage to park in and that makes me happy.

Many of our neighbors have thanked us for and quot;improving the neighborhoodand quot;! Thanks to Paul and his crew and their attention to detail we now have a beautiful backyard and garage.

He came thru service master, he showed up on time, gave me an estimate, performed the work, talked me through every step, and finished the job. He was finished one week early. He did take a little time to come out again to replace a peice of loose vinyl but did the job himself and was honest as to the time frame it would take for him to come out do so, ( he had been working out of town at this time). i was very satisfied with his work. I will use him again for my addition on the back of my house.
