The job: Install a new floor in dining area where carpet had been installed when condo was originally built.
The primary questions: 1) ceramic tile? 2) laminate? 3) hardwood?
The secondary questions: 1) what style/color to choose and how to match with existing kitchen and fireplace-surround tile and living room carpet?
2) differences/pros and cons of using hardwood vs laminate and how to match against current tile and carpet?
3) what the cost options might be in considering tile vs laminate vs hardwood and best place(s) to shop at for the needed flooring materials?
Knowing my need for a quick installation, he, Paul Galaska, reassured me that as soon as I acquired the flooring materials I had finally decided upon, he would be able to get the flooring installed - to my satisfaction - in one day's time, and well before my needed installation/move-in date timeline. He also suggested and, with my approval, set up a "carpet guy/professional" to come by the same day as the installation to finish off the carpet-to-flooring edging.
The result: 1) I chose and ordered a laminate from a local home improvement store, which 'held' the materials for Paul and his associate, Shannon, to be picked up on the morning of the install. 2) The installation went without any problems, with Paul and Shannon keeping my home quite neat and clean while moving supplies in and out of the house. They were polite and very easy to work with; and the carpet installer, who was chosen/asked to finish off the carpet edging, was also polite and very efficient.
The quoted price was accurate, and he installed new door handles and deadbolts on my front and back doors, for which he charged a very reasonable fee. The cost of flooring supplies ended up being about the same as the cost of the installation.
Total cost of job: Roughly $1000.00 - $ 1100.00 for about 150 square footage.
I have already given his name and information to one or two people who have been looking to have similar work done...and would be willing to do so again.

AWESOME!!!! Paul and his team were just great. He worked with me along the way and offer options and opinions. I had a vision and was challenged with some detail and he came through fabulously. The quality provided for the price cannnot be beat!!!
He will be doing my main bath in the spring, and look forward to working with him again!

The owner’s name is Paul. It was a unique type of service charge for us. He is essentially a handyman. He will come out and do your bathroom remodeling and do your counter tops, but you have to go and buy your own product. He has a couple of leads in a few stores. He essentially catches up a middleman from him having to order products and so you go out there and take advantage of the sales or the product. He installs them for you. As far as the price goes, it was actually very low for the labor service and compared to the work that he had done. I spent from my pocket for the product though. I don’t remember the exact figure. He was very personable. He was very communicative. It didn’t seem like he was doing something without telling you. It was actually a good description of the service that he was going to perform. He was timely. It seemed like he stuck to the estimated time for the service. He said it would be done in two weeks and it was done in two weeks. He’s a small business owner and so he does not have a secretary. A lot of times he would have to call you back or I have to leave a voice mail. He’s coming out this week to give me an estimate for doing some tile work in my kitchen. I will use his services again in the future.
