Kevin came highly recommended by friends who had custom work done to their foyer and living room by KMF Construction. After meeting with him in person, we were emailed a proposal. It looked good (a few details to work out) and prices were fair. Communication stopped after we emailed the last set of questions to determine what we needed to obtain vs. what he would obtain for materials and confirm start date. After three unanswered emails and two voicemails (the last asking for a courtesy call letting us know either way what was happening) we gave up. Disappointing. Note: Approximate cost of services does not include materials. Communication breakdown: January 9, 2015. Last voicemail message left to call us back either way. No response. Kevin was just what we wanted, someone in business for himself. He was hard working, honest, professional. He hired electricians and plumber to do that work - all good choices. Any hitches along the way were all taken care of. We are very pleased with our bathroom and will call Kevin again for any future projects.

We bought an old house and it needed a lot of upgrades, but we had a pretty small budget for what we wanted to do. Kevin and his team came in to bid, were super-knowledgeable and explained their plans in language we could understand. He personally kept us up-to-date on progress regularly, and that made us really confident in the team. Their attention to detail was wonderful overall, and they went above and beyond in so many areas. They re-created original moldings and even added matching ones around a new window we asked them to add. Every single room they did looks great, and we've received so many compliments (our realtor almost fell over when she saw their work). After we lived here for a month or two, we noticed a few tiny things we wish we could tweak, but we needed to move in, and because of a delay by the city, KMF was in a huge time crunch for the final details. They did a fantastic job of completing it. In all, our experience was fantastic and I'd highly recommend KMF to anyone. We're really proud of our home and are looking forward to more projects with KMF!

Kevin was prompt with his communication as well as for his appointment. He was thorough and spent enough time to fully understand the project. Was was professional and knowledgable. His proposal arrived approximately 1 week after the visit. His price was competitive overall. We ended up selecting another contractor but appreciate his time very much!

KMF Construction completely reconfigured the kitchen in which they knocked out the living room wall and converted it to a breakfast bar. This opened the kitchen up to the living room which included having a beautiful view of the large East facing picture window. They also relocated the sink, dishwasher, stove, and provided an above stove microwave. They also installed custom marble-tile counter tops, custom tile back splash, and various custom cabintery and woodwork. We were truly pleased with the woodworking skills of this company. We were sold after seeing some of the custom cabinetry photos of past wreck rooms and kitchens that they had built. When he provided the same quality craftsmanship on our home it made the whole project worth the experience. Even with the downturning economy and poor home sales in mid-2010, our home sold after being on the market for only 4 weeks. A majority of the posititve comments from buyers was toward the kitchen. Now that we are in our new home my family and I have been looking forward to updating this kitchen with the assistance of KMF Construction.

Our original plan was to completely renovate an existing basement bathroom for aesthetic reasons. Kevin was very helpful in answering our questions and offering suggestions on materials and layout. Unfortunately, once the demolition was completed, we discovered the need to revise our plans to reinforce a foundation wall, replace drain tile throughout the basement and re-pour sections of the concrete floor. Kevin was extremely flexible in addressing our significantly reduced renovation budget: he suggested quality, lower-priced alternative materials, helped us identify elements of the project we could do ourselves, and recommended changes to the layout that would lower our costs without reducing the appearance and function of the finished room. He assured us we could achieve the polished, high-quality look we wanted despite our reduced budget. Kevin is knowledgeable of Wauwatosa building codes and has positive working relationships with the inspectors that fostered an overall sense of everyone working together to create the best possible finished product. Kevin clearly has excellent relationships with the plumbing and electrical subcontractors who were all very professional, did high-quality work, and spoke well of him personally and of the work he does. Throughout the entire experience, Kevin was patient, informative, positive and fantastically easy to work with. We will use him again for future renovation projects and will recommend him to everyone we know!
