In July of 2009 we had our septic system pumped. After it was pumped we were told the rear baffle had rotted off and that it should be fixed soon or failure of the system will result. The following week we had the baffle replaced and a riser installed, because it was recommended. Because they couldn't install the baffle until a week after the first cleaning in July, they had to pump the tank again in order to install the baffle. Because the baffle failed, Now that I look back, I think the drainfield should have been jetted out at that time . It was never even suggested! The bill for 2 cleanings, the baffle and riser install was $565.61. The 2nd cleaning was at a reduced rate, seeing as it was cleaned just a week earlier. After all was said and done, it was suggested that they pump the septic every 2 yrs. They sent a reminder in July 2011, so we had the tank pumped for $145. There were no comments about the inspection of the tank at that time. Then, only 4 months later, the drainfield failed. We had it pumped and they suggested that the drainfield be jetted out the next day at which time they had to pump the system out again before jetting. Because my husband and I were both at work when this was done I had asked that they call and let us know what the outcome was after jetting. I opened the cover to the septic before I called the next day and the tank was 3/4 full. I find it hard to believe that with 2 people in the house, that a 1000 gallon tank would be that full after 24 hrs. Tri-County Pumpers never called, I had to call them. When I talked to Owen, he said it was still plugged at the vent end and we'd probably need a new septic system or mound. What a coincidence, Tri-County Pumpers also installs new septic / mound systems.
Description of Work: On November 13th, 2011 our drainfield failed and sewerage back up in the basement. Called Tri-County Pumpers, because they advertise services 24/7, and they were familiar with our septic system from previous cleanings and repair. This took place early on a Sunday evening. When I called they said they couldn't come and pump until Monday morning.oun
