Lower Unit Bath Tub Overflow drain was installed improperly. Many days after this crew claimed the job was complete I filled the tub, used it for bath and days later discovered puddles of water in basement under the tub area. With a little investigation I discovered that the overflow valve was not connected causing overflow water to drain directly from tub to floor boards and then onto basement floor. Perhaps I am naive, but I thought that serviceman would verify the work was done correctly.
Lower Unit Vanity Overflow: The serviceman initially failed to unclogged the vanity overflow using mechanical and chemical methods. Instead he installed a different vanity drain. Unfortunately, the drain he added was more narrow than the one he removed, with consequently caused the water to drain more slowly than it did before RJ Parins arrived. This did not eliminate the reason for the repair, but exacerbated the risk. Two servicemen returned weeks later and unclogged the overflow correctly.
Upper Unit Kitchen Sink (double sink w/ garbage disposal): I was assured that the plumbing would satisfy Brown County
building code specification for this sink. This building code specification ?suggests? that the fixture would operate to some standard level of satisfaction. Perhaps in my ignorance I assumed that the servicemen would verify that the water would flow correctly and that the garbage disposal would indeed dispose waste water appropriately. Because the upper unit is unoccupied, I had no occasion to verify because the work "...looked right." Well, as I was giving a tour showing the work that had been done to improve the value of the property I demonstrated the kitchen sink with garbage disposal. I turned on water, filling about an inch with stopper in disposal side of sink. Removed stopper and engaged the disposal. Water erupted from both sides of the double sink which is not was I expected from a recently repaired/installed disposal and sink plumbing.
All I expected was agree on work, servicemen complete the job and I pay bill for professionally executed job. Instead, after each error is uncovered I have to go back to the company RJ Parins and arrange for them to return to my property. I don't trust them because experience working with the company is below basic expectations. If they had done the work right the first time, even if there was a minor error, I would be fine. However, I have had enough of this company.
The people seem nice. They wrote: "R.J. Parins Plumbing and Heating has been in business since 1967. We strive to satisfy our customers and have been successful in doing so. This has been a large part of our success. How can we settle this for you in a timely and satisfactory manner?" My experience is not consistent with this claim. Good quality service eliminates the need to return yo my property multiple times to repair what was expected to be repaired initially. I have kept pictures and all email exchanges because I have no idea what will happen next.
