Save yourself the mess and go with a more professional company.
Did not go well.
First the toilet was removed and unblocked. ASAP notified us that they could not re-secure the toilet as the flooring surrounding it was bad. So, they asked if I wanted them to replace the flooring around it. Sure, I said. Then I figured, well since that area is being replaced, might as well have them pick up a new toilet and replace it as well. Then of course they couldn't save the floor tiling since it was old, so they picked that up as well.
It took a couple of days for them to do the job. My wife was home with our son at the time, I was at work. She was not pleased with their sloppiness at all. I had walked in at one point when they were working and they placed the old toilet into our bathtub. I later noticed that they had put some scuff marks into it. They also hired an amateur to install the floor tiling and do the caulking. It looked awful. I had to call them back at least once to redo the caulking, which looks just fair. The tiling never really settled very well and has some bubbles and gaps in-between. Don't know why we ended up paying them - don't know why.
The last time I had contact with them was in June of 2014 and they gave a story about having to see if they can contact this guy to fix the tiles. Of course, this was just them not standing behind their work. I have made further observations into their installations after the fact. The board they used underneath is rather flimsy and at times creaks when walking near or using the facility. It has settled somewhat now which is okay I guess. They used extra long bolts to bolt the toilet down which stick out.
Never..ever...again. Proceed with caution in requesting their services.
"The floor under the toilet was rotten nothing we did caused that issue. It isn't desirable to find things like this and report them to home owners. Another company that in-turn billed Asap had to replace the floor in which then we could have the toilet back in use. I'm sorry for the inconvenience during this process But we did inform you of the area that would be fixed is limited to the area of water damage not the entire floor. We supplied you with copies of your invoice describing only the section under the toilet with water damage was to be replaced after the work was done so we didn't hide or cover up anything we were in constant contact with your wife as she was home for the entire process and was not afraid to voice her opinions on our work."
"[Members Name] I am so sorry to hear that your experience with our company was bad. I the business owner am ashamed of the work provided to you as you described it. I would like to say that is not how we conduct business here at Asap sewer and drain cleaning llc. Being clean should have been my technicians main priority and even though drain cleaning is dirty work we practice cleanliness while working because of the nature of work we provide."
Phone Call
2 hours later the work was finished.
Paid $112.
Now I plan to have preventative maintenance, or repairs instead of a flooded basement.
