All the projects went very well. Troy does great work. He listens to our ideas and makes suggestions. We are well satisfied working with Troy on the many projects he has completed for us. If we have another project, Troy will get the call.

40 year old cabin was in need of a facelift.  The siding was starting to deteriorate and we had roofed the house about 10 years earlier with faulty shingles.  The interior was in ok shape, but needed some renovation, and we wanted a second bath added.
With a wedding approaching in June and a tight timeline, we asked Griffin Construction for a commitment to be done with the project by May 1.  Troy worked out an aggressive schedule which I must say  I had my doubts about, but he was true to his word.  The project went as Troy had promised, even with a few somewhat major unforeseen issues popping up.
We started the project near the end of February, and things really started moving.  The weather in NW WI in early 2014 was far less than ideal for a building project, as it was an extremely cold, snowy, long winter.  All the same, Troy persevered and shuffled tasks to meet his deadline.
In terms of communication, we were doing the remodel remotely as we live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area.  Troy was extremely cognizant of making sure a clear connection was made between us.  Any time an issue came up that needed addressing, Troy contacted my wife and me for confirmation, and did a great job expressing the concern and listening to our opinions on how to handle it.
Two months after we started this endeavor, Troy completed that project on schedule and on budget.  There were some extras which we were well aware of relating to the unforeseen issues mentioned and modifications to the plan we'd decided to make, but I was very pleased with both the fairness of costs and receptiveness to our changes that Troy's team gave us.
Three traits I'd use to express Troy's work:  Integrity, Punctual, Honest.

I have been fortunate in knowing both Troy and Karen Griffin
for many years. They are honest, dependable, and very professional and
the work is outstanding.
They were very helpful in the entire process of a recent
remodel to my home, advising me on what products and materials were best suited
to the specific projects, to completing the entire remodel ahead of schedule. Troy and his crew were very patient and
took the time to ask what I would like, and to explain everything they were
doing and why.
My home was originally built in 1974, so there were several
issues with energy efficiency and old building materials were not
up-to-date. Troy and his crew removed and re-shingled the
roof, checked the insulation in the roof to find it was missing quite a
bit. This issue was resolved very
quickly and brought up to code. If they
hadn’t taken the time to actually remove some of the roof sheeting, the
insulation deficiency would never have been discovered.
They removed and replaced 17 windows, applying insulation
where there previously had been none or very little. They installed interior and exterior framing
around the windows, and everything looks fabulous! Their work was meticulous and the debris was
completely removed. They also installed
rain
gutters, and replaced structure posts on my covered entry. Troy stands
by his word and his work. I would happily hire him for future
construction needs.
I am not a big fan of winter, but I am looking forward to being
inside my ‘new’ home, staying toasty warm as I enjoy the view from my new
windows!

I truly love working with this company. They are personable, honest, direct, keep-in-touch throughout the process, and they do truly beautiful work. This is our 3rd project with them in a little over a year. They replaced old rotting windows with new windows, but we changed all the window sizes to provide a better view. So now we are surrounded by glass in our sun room looking out at the lake, deck, etc. The process involved replacing the interior tongue and groove pine since all the windows were changing sizes and the old pine was yellowed and couldn't be matched. The room is stunning, and far exceeded our expectations of how beautiful it might be. The workmanship is impeccable. Our cabin needs several more projects, and we won't be working with anyone else. These guys are great!

Former homeowner built a deck, which he turned into a 4 season sunroom on his own. When we built a deck alongside it, we realized that the whole sunroom was tilting. Inspection revealed no footings, a very insufficient beam, insufficient floor joists pieced together from multiple short 2x4s, attached to the house with only 3 inch nails, etc. Troy Griffin Construction attached the room to the house, replaced floor joists, installed a proper beam, created footings and replaced posts, and they subcontracted rebuilding a retaining wall and changing grade to make the footings all viable. This was very tricky work that could have resulted in the whole room collapsing if not done correctly. They took the time to build temporary walls to support everything and did a great job in resupporting the sunroom. It's now VERY solid and safe. I was very nervous about this work and Troy Griffin Construction emailed me regularly about the progress, and sent photos through email to keep me informed along the way. This is a lake home for us and we live 2 1/2 hrs away. LOVED working with this company and have already worked with them again. They are great!!
