Provider performed the first application early in the morning, the day after a heavy rain.  When the provider's young crew arrived, I asked them about seal coating a wet driveway.  They assured me that it was no problem, as they would attempt the dry the driveway with blow dryers, and also that the sealant mixture had plenty of water in it's base anyway.  When they were done, the driveway actually looked pretty good.  However, we immediately noticed that they had splattered the black sealant compound on the bottom of our newer almond colored garage door.  The provider does provide a one-year warranty.  But the problems only got worse.

We don't live in an overly rainy area.  However, after roughly two weeks, perhaps three, we noticed that only slight rainfall and the elements had already began to erode the coating from various areas of the driveway.  There were patches and splotches of missing sealant all over the driveway, and the crack sealant was also curling up in various areas of the driveway.  We called the provider, the owner came and inspected the driveway, and ordered the driveway to be resealed.  The young crew came out again, applied another application to the driveway, and fixed the crack peeling issues.  This was done on a thoroughly dry driveway, in the dead heat of summer.  After that application, we still noticed that there were parts of the driveway where the sealant was already wearing off after only a month or so, and we were pretty sure it wouldn't last through the winter.

We were right, it didn't.  Even though we don't plow our driveway, and use only plastic shovels and plastic shoes on our snow blower, the driveway looked horrible after the winter.  The sealant was peeling in almost every area where there was any pitch or shade, and even in other areas that have no pitch, and are in direct sunlight.

We called the provider again about the driveway in May 2014.  Provider gave a multitude of excuses why his formula was cracking and peeling where other providers' formulas had been durable, and stated that he would "touch up" the cracking and peeling areas of the driveway.  He quoted his contract, defended his actions, accused our driveway of being the problem, and provided unprofessional customer service.  We declined to have him return.

This was a bad experience all around, and we will not use this provider in the future.  We will perform more due diligence before we choose another seal coating provider for our asphalt driveway.

I was very pleased with the scheduling.  My only concern was a very course material being used for the repair which made it hard to blend in with the existing driveway when seal coated.  However, they retuned to put additional seal coating and did the best they could. All workers were cordial and professional.
