Scott and crew were professional, courteous, respectful and well-trained! The work was done on my elderly mom's home, which brings about anxiety regarding potential interactions with a vulnerable homeowner. Work was performed to specifications if not beyond (with no add-on costs), Crew was extremely professional and respectful with interaction with my mom and very accommodating when they had to move equipment to allow my mom in/out of driveway. The work site was cleaned up everyday despite the work not being done. Excellent quality of work. Even the neighbor commented and indicate he was impressed by both crew professionalism and quality of work! I plan to use them for a need on my personal home in the next 2+ years.

It went real well. I had two other companies and they could not figure out how to fix it. He came out and said he had an idea, and it absolutely perfect. he knew exactly what he was doing.

Our house is 25 years old and the original cedar shake roof was due for total replacement, after several past treatments of the wood and replacing shingles. J&B was one of four contractors we contacted, and the one where we had personal word-of-mouth recommendations. Scott Cline, the owner of the company, visited our house a couple of times during the bidding process -- instead of sending a salesman. Scott is very knowledgeable and explained why asphalt shingles would require a different kind of ventilation (ridge vs. roof caps) and several other technical aspects of the job. His bid was somewhere "in the middle" -- not the cheapest, not the highest. 
The process started a little later than we wished but we are at the mercy of the weather, etc. with a job like this. Scott's crew also took a few more days than we expected to finish -- just under two weeks for a pretty complex job. (It takes longer to remove cedar shakes than to remove asphalt, and the new shingles we bought took longer to install.) But the work itself was very well done, the team (Chris, Andy, Chris and Mark) answered any questions that came up during the installation, and the cleanup after every day and when the work was completed was immaculate. 
J&B has been in business since 1958 so you are not dealing with a fly-by-night company, especially when the owner himself is doing the bidding. And Scott is obviously very precise in his estimates...the job was completed with five shingles to spare!

They were very nice. They cleaned up nicely everyday before they left. They spread their tarps around. They had a truck that they put in front of the garage, and they moved it. They cleared it off every night. The driveway was never blocked. We are very satisfied with them. They worked all the way through. They seemed very professional. It was just very satisfactory.

Excellent work. They did what they said they were going to do.

They had a large crew and they finished the job in two days.  We had a small gutter issue, but they didn’t resolve it.

They are very good. I like them because at the time I did the roof it was a complete tear off. I also needed my chimney rebuilt and I needed the two to be done simultaneously, one after the other. They did a cleanup every single day and did a wonderful job. I have 45 year Tempco shingles put on. What else can I say? They are great. I will use them again in the future.

 

 

 

 

The price was one of the best quotes we received (of 4 bids) for the amount of work to be done. Scott was extremely professional and knowledgeable from the moment we met him for the bid. He knew exactly what needed to be done to repair the roof correctly. He kept us informed as to when the job would start - any delay was due to weather. We had to wait for the weather to warm up, but once they got started they were very efficient and professional. In one day they tore of the old roof, insulated, put up new sheathing, and water proofed it so the house was safe from the elements. During this time, they also took care of our eyebrow window and replacing some copper flashing. The clean up was impressive - I haven't found any sizable debris from their work in my yard. Four days later (after we got a break in the weather) they came back to install the copper gutters and the roof railing system. We were extremely pleased with the work. They came back a few days later to reinspect the work, made sure we were satisfied, and pick up payment. I would absolutely recommend them for any roofing needs.

Bar one error that we found later, we found their work to be very good. They were very professional. It was a good team that worked well. I was very happy with them. They weren't the cheapest quote, but for the value of the price, I'm satisfied.

It was a very negative experience. They had poor performance all around. They were supposed to do a complete roofing and they never got back to me about the roof shingles. I had to go to small claims court to get my money back on my down payment. I also talked to Angie's List who wrote them a letter to get my money back which I finally did.

Their prices were expensive, but they did a lot of work. I did not so any comparison because I needed them to come out right away. I have also used them before to do some other things.

We called them for an estimate on our roof which we wanted to replace. He helped us out a ton by offering a more affordable option to install vents. I appreciated their honesty and that they weren't just trying to get money out of me, but to help me. I will definitely hire them if and when needed.

Professionally done. I had a question about the work. My phone call was returned promptly with my questions answered.

A home inspector came out and told us that our previous roof had been put on incorrectly. We had this company put on a new roof and do some siding but we still had leaks. When we called to have them fix the leaks they refused.

Scott gave a knowledgeable evaluation of the condition of the existing roof and prepared a detailed proposal for the work to be done. The crew arrived at the scheduled time and completed the work in a professional and efficient manner. They were careful to avoid damage to gardens and cleaned up carefully when finished. After the work was completed, Jack Cline came out to insure that the work was satisfactory and to deliver the waiver of lien form. We had no concerns about the work done.

I think that their personal were professional but didn't adhere to the promised schedule of work.

Scott Cline, company rep was thorough and professional. Tear off was performed by crew of ten, workers were efficient, courteous and responsive. However old nails on garage (first part of job to be completed), were driven down rather than extracted. Many of them were left protruding through trim molding on gables. On 7-9-07 Bruce returned to finish the job- I am now satisfied.

They did an excellent job. They were on time. There was a large group that came and finished the job in a short time period.
