GREAT LAKES ROOFING

I spent $60,000 with Great Lakes Roofing to have a new roof put on a building. Within 18 months, the roof developed a leak. Great Lakes was called to repair the roof leak. I thought this was part of a warrantee claim since they just replaced the entire roof. They came out twice and fixed the leak. They did not send me a quote or a notice that the work they were performing was not covered by the 10 year warrantee. Upon completion of the work they sent a bill for $3,685, claiming that this leak was not covered under the new roof warrantee. If it was not covered they should have notified me, explained why it was not covered by the warrantee, then given me a quote and let me decide if I wanted them to do the work. When I disagreed with their bill they filed a lien against my property. I have contacted them often and they promise to call me back but they never do.

They came back with a solution that I was unsure of, but allowed them to proceed.  After a year, the leak remained.  (couldn't be sure the fix worked due to the very dry summer).  Of course the repairs done to the interior were ruin when when the leak returned
They were very slow to respond and when they did, suggested major additional work.    We paid $1000 for a fix that did not work and when I suggested that they return our payment and pay for the damages ($1200), there has been no response to our attempts or our insurance company's attempts.
Would not recommend them to anyone.

THESE GUYS DID A GREAT JOB. THEY CAME RIGHT AWAY AS WE HAD WATER LEAKING IN THE FIREPLACE. HE EVEN TOOK PICTURES OF WHERE YOU COULD SEE THAT THE BIRDS WERE PECKING AWAY AT THE CAULK UNINTENTIONALLY TO GET AFTER SOME BUGS FOR FOOD.
