Jake himself is very professional and friendly. He gave us an estimate of $500-700 with no $50 charge for stairs if we paid in cash which we did. He came to our home and looked at our items and gave us the estimate. The two guys that showed up that day were super slow and lacked packing a truck common sense. It took them over an hour to get to the new house which is about 20 minutes away. Then charged us for over an hour for them to get back to Galesville. Which is only 20 minutes away. We also were charged for 20-25 minutes to get to our old home which Jake himself told us it was max 5 minutes to get to our home from their office. Galesville is a very small town so this couldn't of been due to traffic. They also took several breaks outside we were told that no breaks would be taken on the clock. Also our kitchen table, patio table, a desk and a dresser never made it on the truck. They spent almost an hour messing with our chest of drawers taking it up our stairs. We found out from the guy that was hired to replace our ceiling in our kitchen. That we should look at the chest of drawers. He also let us know that he actually ended up helping them with with moving it upstairs. He stated that they couldn't figure out how to get upstairs and he had to tell them to tip it on end on the landing then turn it so it would go up easily. Once he helped them it took minutes to get it the rest of the way up the stairs. When we looked at the back leg sure enough there are cracks in the leg and there is cracks to other areas. Several of our large items had scratches and/or dings on them. I have talked to others that have hired Jake's that have had excellent service. But those who have had excellent service Jake himself was one of their movers. Those who had not so great service Jake himself wasn't one of their movers. So if I ever need a mover the only way I would hire Jake's again is if I was guaranteed Jake himself was going to be onsite at the time.

It was all very good. My only complaint was that it took a lot longer than they thought it would. It wasn’t so much that we paid more, we just ran out of time in the day and they had another job the next day so few things were kind of rushed at the end.

Jake and his partner were super friendly, fast workers, careful, on time.... Can't say enough nice things about these guys. We dreaded the moving process but it was totally painless! Hourly rate beat competitors who also provided estimates. Would definitely recommend and use again.
