Will never call South Shore again. They put in our furnace and our air conditioner within two years, and the furnace wasn’t working properly. The technician came out for 20 minutes tops, told us he "cleaned some junk out of the fan", got charged for $79 ‘diagnostics’ and $79 a ‘tune-up’. There is a list of items to check for a ‘tune-up’, he did this all within the 20 minutes between his ‘diagnostics’ as well? Right.... will no longer be a customer. What a joke. Did not even come upstairs to state what he was doing, just completed the work and told us, hey, this is what you owe now. When I spoke with the company about this situation I received very poor customer service as well.

"Sorry to hear you were unhappy with our service. Maintenance is only $79 when scheduled, we are currently 1 month out on maintenance. When we have to come out for a service call, the service trip is charged and maintenance is charged if it is done. I have time stamps on his ticket that he was there for 45 minutes and he said he discussed his findings and what needed to be done. Maintenance is needed on furnaces and air conditioners every year to keep running properly. Best of luck with your future heating company."

Great company! We contacted them on a Monday evening and they were at my house by 2 pm the following afternoon, we really appreciated the quick response. The technicians sent to our home were very professional and took care to not damage our property when removing our old water heater, as well as when they installed the replacement. The cost of the job was reasonable and completely fair.

After calling 7 other HVAC places and being told the soonest we could be seen was in two weeks, South Shore came out that day. Sadly our Boiler couldn't be fixed (it was over 30 years old and leaking Carbon Monoxide). They were able to replace it that same day though and stayed until 9pm that night to make sure we would have heat for the cold snap. All the while they answered our questions in easy to understand language. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Extremely responsive.

I don't know anything they could have improved on. They seemed to be competent. The furnace is in a crawlspace so I could not go in there so I have not been able to check it out visually but it seems to be working fine. I am satisfied so far. I thought the price was fair. I had used them before and they were recommended on Angies List. They recommended a high quality furnace and I did some research into that and it seemed fair.

They were super flexible with me. Kind of a long story but they were flexible where they didn't have too be. Also on top of that they have a buck of really good advice on how to balance my heating and spent time explaining it. I felt valued and would use them again.

Charged to much for parts. Parts that are $20 costed $125.00. Did not even clean unit for $325.00. For that much money service man should have been able to remove screws to clean outside evaporator coil or use a brush, part of the systems operation. Will submit pictures of coils, later. Looked up parts per owners manual and found them on line for approximately $20. The system did not even need any Freon.
