Pipe Repair
When the plumber arrived (delayed by over six hours) to cap my gas line in preparation for an electric stove installation, he told me I didn't need to get the line capped in such a circumstance. He kept saying, "who told you that you needed this?" I believed it was the standard approach recommended by plumbers for safety. But he simply closed the gas valve and left. After that I confirmed I was correct and called Mr. Rooter for someone to come complete the job. I was told someone would contact me but no one ever did, so I had to rush to hire a different company. During a later ?apology call? (after my Yelp review was read) from Mr. Rooter to discuss my experience, it was suggested to me that had my husband been present during the visit by the plumber, my request for the gas line to be capped would have been taken more seriously (because a man would know more about plumbing, I inferred). Saying "this may sound chauvinistic, but" as a preface to this comment didn't soften the blow.

They did a descaling and a repair. Over 7000 wirth. The sewer -- three weeks later -- is backing up. Despite paying for a 3 year warranty, they now state the Franksville offices do not do 24/7 service, (even though the website states the warranty is for 24/7 priority service.) Now have to wait the full weekend to get this corrected- something was apparently not done right to behin with and they sold us a warranty plan and do not honor the warranty terms

My brother who is disabled in a wheelchair from a concussion called Mr. Rooter Plumbing Service, located in Franksville Wi. His bathtub was backing up with a mud and soot substance. He had tried to unplug the bathtub with a plumbing snake cable , however the cable broke off in the bathtub drain pipe. Mr. Rooter came to his house, charged him $200.00 for doing absolutely nothing to fix his plumbing problem. It discussed me how Mr. Rooter took advantage of a disabled person. I then called the original Roto-Rooter Plumbing Company, they came the following day. They pulled out the snake cable from the bathtub. Bathtub, bathroom sink, laundry tub were also affected. RotoRooter service the drain line from laundry tub trap connection out to where it ties into main line. Also serviced sewer from main clean in laundry room out 100 feet to outside road. RotoRooter worked for three hours, the job was done correctly with know further problems. If anyone has plumbing problems call RotoRooter not Mr. Rooter two different company’s.

I had a horrible experience with Mr. Rooter. I am very sensitive to respecting service. I appreciate good service so I would never say bad about anybody, but I was so angry with them. It was ridiculous! My total cost ended up being $610. That was because the service guy added on an advantage plan membership for 3 years for $100. I asked what it was for and he said they don't charge as much hourly rate, and it ended up being the same amount. For them to come out it was $160, and then they did a cable through the line. He refused to even touch the hot water heater. He wouldn't even get it temporarily going. They charged me $370 to run a cable through a line and then added on this plan membership for 3 years. I told them I'm never going to use them again after I found out that they were totally screwing me over. I wanted a refund for the $100 and they absolutely refused. Another company said they did not hook up the bottom of the drain, the pipe they installed wasn't long enough. It's got about a quarter of an inch gap. The plumber that they sent out to run the line kept running the water in the sink so it was just running down on my basement floor. I came downstairs and my basement was almost flooded. He didn't pay attention, he did not even care. I had brought it to him afterwards. I called back Monday and I said I had a real problem with their estimate and I don't why I'm being charged the $100. I paid $100 to be a 3-year member but I'm not going to use them again. Their guy flooded my basement. He did not even look to see that the water was running out on the floor. I had put the floor down so I had to rip up the floor and install all over again. I have not one nice word to say to those people and they were not nice on the phone. They were just nasty.

"Our service records do not agree with the address or the dates of service. We are very concerned that a customer would have gone without attention after such a detailed, unhappy service call. We will definitely investigate the situation on our end and with Angies List."

Boy am I glad I waited a year to right this review. After multiple plumbers looked at our problem and all had no idea of why we would have periodic large backups of sewage in our basement over a period of ten years. I went on Angies list and

chose Mr. Rooter based on reviews. They came out and snaked out the pipes after another backup and then began to diagnose the problem. They determined that there was a back pitch in the pipe where the stub in for another bathroom in the basement connected.

So I hired them to break up the concrete and replace the section. The work was done the cement was replaced the concrete was not finished smoothly and did not match the rest of the floor. Then John the owner told me that the toilet paper we were using was to thick, even though it said safe for septic systems, and we are on the Kenosha city sewer system. So about 3 months go by and we think everything is great (we did not change paper) another backup occurs. So we switch toilet paper and another backup occurs we switch again. The last two were minor and was able to take care of them myself. Then a few weeks ago we had large and I called Mr. Rooter after normal hours and was told they could not help me. That made me mad I called another service and had them come out snake out the pipes. After the other service was on the way John from Mr. Rooter called I told him I already had another company coming to take care of a problem that I paid them 5 thousand dollars to never have happen again. They called back another day saying they want to come out and see what's going on I screw you if I took my car in for repair and paid 5000.00 and it was still broke I would not go back to that garage again. So Mr. Rooter can kiss my @#$ if they think I am going to let back in my house.

After having some horrible experiences with other plumbers trying to gauge us we had a great experience with Mr. Rooter.  They were very professional, on-time and while not the cheapest we were very pleased with the quality work.  It was obvious that he took his time to ensure quality but the job was done in a reasonable time period.

We noticed we had a leak in the basement, and Mr. Rooter arrived within 2 days to check out the area.  They did a very thorough "walk through," and the technician gave me several theories as to where the leak was coming from.  He also explained whatWe scheduled work for the following Wednesday (due to MY schedule, not theirs!), and they got to work.  With all of the work that they performed, we were really pleased with the cost, and they were super professional.  They also cleaned up after themselves, so it was if they were never even here.
I would highly recommend this company.  Everyone, from the receptionist to the repairmen, were extremely friendly, accommodating, and they explained things honestly and with the "heart of a teacher."

My elderly mother had a leaking garbage disposal. She called Mr. Rooter because they said they would give her an estimate up front. She is hard of hearing and evidently did not hear all that the tech explained to her, and this contributed to a billing dispute. But she agreed to the price and after several months she paid it.
But here is the issue. The garbage disposal replacement ended up costing her quite a lot more than she understood. And given the actual cost of the unit at any local home improvement store and the amount of time it took to provide the service it was on the high end and she felt they took advantage of her due to her age.
But my concern is that when she received a bill for the "second installment" which was exactly equal to the amount she gave the tech on the day of service thinking she was paying in full, she contacted the office. A series of phone discussions took place with my mother saying that an error had been made and she was duplicate billed. The office handled the calls so poorly that she said she would not pay the second amount unless they convinced her that she owed the additional amount. Instead, they turned it over to a collection agency. They could have just copied her on the original agreement and the bill would have been paid. Mom says she never received a copy to start with, and believe me she saves a copy of everything and keeps it for years. Instead it took me two months talking with the collection agency to get a copy of the agreement with her signature.  And then the bill was paid in full.
I have to say that I believe the professionalism of this organization across the board was lacking. The experience was one that I hope others can avoid.

"After a thorough review of our records, we have no customer with this name or address. We also have no job that reflects a garbage disposer replacement for 30 days surrounding the stated date of repair. We have not heard directly from this customer in any way nor do we have any collection proceedings in effect. Perhaps this was another company?"

Shane did a great job. He's very knowledgeable . He was on time and price was exactly as estimated. Honest and professional. He kept everything as neat and clean as possible, did not leave a mess behind. He even replaced a laundry faucet he noticed was not working at no cost. I highly recommend this company.

Very well. Appointment was set for 4:30 that day, but Tony called to say that he could come out earlier if that was okay. He jetted out the drain, explained what was causing the clog, and showed me on the video camera that the water was now flowing through the pipe. Work was done in less time than estimated.

Called Mr Rooter to open a frozen drain on my kitchen sink.  I told the dispatcher that I thought the drain was frozen as well as the tech that was sent to open the Drain. The tech quoted me $248 to snake the sink drain.    Seem a little high but I was stuck so I told him to go ahead.  Well he worked at it for about an hour and then told me that I had an ice clog in the drain and he would need to use some other equipment to open the drain, This would be an additional $800.  My issue is that I told the tech up front that I thought the drain was frozen.  At that point I would have expected the tech to tell me that he will try with a snake at a cost of $248 BUT that may not open the drain and it may cost me as much as $1000.  I would have said thanks but no thanks at that point. This contractor is not very up front and honest with cost.  So I was out $248 and still had a frozen drain.    I will not use Mr. Rooter again

Very well.
Happenstance had me in the basement the moment my wife had flushed a toilet upstairs, when the sewer water began backing up through the floor drain.  New this was going to be a pro-job.
Selected Mr Rooter based on AL reviews.  The dispatcher told me the plumber would be there between 1 & 3pm (it was only 9a), but mentioned the plumber would call if he could make it any earlier.  To my great satisfaction, he called about an hour later (10a) saying he could be there in 1/2...fantastic!
He quickly diagnosed the clog as being between the house and muni sewer which would require cabling the drain.  He spent almost an hour doing so, which was well worth it.  Over the years the roots from our tree in our front yard began growing into the sewer drain, a common occurrence.  He sent the cable down one, hit the first root, cut it out.  The water went down. But then he took the next step.  We flushed the toilets to make sure it was clear. Nope another obstruction.  We repeated this a few times, ensuring all of the roots were cleared.  He didn't stop at just getting the water down but continued until all of the roots were cleared, and there were quite a few.  Needless to say, this extra attention most likely have cured the problem for more than just a short while ensuring that it wasn't just fixed but fixed right.
He had given me a quote up front and, sure enough, even though the work took a little longer than expected given the situation was more complex, the price came in right on.
Thank you, Kyle, for your prompt attention, courteous manner, and skillful execution.
I will recommend Mr. Rooter in the future.  Thanks!

It went great ! The owner, John, came out and gave us the quote and he was very knowlegable about all aspects of the service we needed. He gave us great advice. He never tried to push us into buying anything, or pressure sell.  The old water softener we had given  us 25 grains of hardness in our well water. It was awful, and just not drinkable. After the new system was installed, we now have 1 grain. Love, love, love it.  I never was a water drinker before, but now with the flawless ice cubes and RO (Reverse Osmosis) system, I drink it all the time. The water no longer smells like sulfur. No more rust stains in the tub, and the clothes and dishes come out so much cleaner. The old toilet we had would run forever, we would wait until it stopped running before we would leave the house, Now , toilet is finished flushing before we can get our hands washed. The tankless water heater is quiet and never leaves us without hot water. The products are top quality as were the workmen. They kept the areas clean and spread out  tarps to keep the carpet and flooring clean. They answered any questions we had and were always prompt. They removed all of the old items. We, without a doubt, would recommend them to others.
We did our homework too before calling them. Checked the BBB and of course Angie's List.  I had hired them before for something and liked them, but wanted to compare to others before this big project. They did not let us down in any way.
