I bought a new home back in 2006 from a local home builder that subcontracts Surgis to do the electrical work. So I don't have a breakdown of the cost for the electrical work since I just bought the home from the builder. Everything was OK for 7 years. There was one outlet that stopped working and the electrical work in the basement ran conduit instead of drilling through the floor joists to run wire to be professional but I think it was still within electrical code. My wife wanted to replace the buider-grade cheaper light fixtures so we bought new lights and wanted an estimate to get them installed. I figured that I would call Surgis since they completed the original work. This way if anything was messed up electrically, then they only had themselves to blame and cannot charge me for some other electricians mistakes. In April 2013, I called Surgis and spoke with a female family member (I don't remember the name). She apparently pulled our file and said that a male family member (I don't remember the name) would call me back for an estimate to install new lights. No one ever called me back. So my wife looked up on the internet how to install light fixtures. It is so simple to do based on our new home. So we did it ourselves. The problem is what you cannot see behind your walls. None of the light fixtures that were originally installed were grounded. I'm no electrician but I think that is a basic safety concern. Maybe that's why Surgis didn't want to come out to give an estimate because then they would have to look at the mistakes made behind the walls and ceilings.
Description of Work: Subcontracted by home builder to Install electrical work in a new home back in 2006 and I called for an estimate to install new light fixtures in April 2013.
