Everything from start to finish was excellent. Our estimate was reasonable, the service we received from Mike and his crew was oustanding, and our roof looked brand new after they were done.

CPS is the absolute best. If I was allowed to give an A+ I would. Their crews are simply first rate and always go the extra distance to make sure the house and windows are clean after the treatment. CPS is extremely professional.

We bought a home with a cedar shake roof & it needed to be treated and have some repair done. We found CPS and we are so happy with the work they did! The 3 guys that came out were Jose, Vinnie and Carlos and they did awesome work from start to finish on both days & it was very humid & hot both days! There were shingles that needed to be replaced (about 6 bundles of shingles total) and then the whole treatment / staining process of the shingles - we picked a dark gray color. They were a great team- Jose did an awesome job with the treatment / stain and Carlos & Vinnie did a great job of cleaning off the house & driveway after they were done to make sure the stain did not discolor the house or driveway too. The roof looks fantastic - brand new!! I would definitely recommend CPS to anyone who needs their cedar roof treated - you can not go wrong with this company!

They did a great job. They replaced some cedar shakes and applied a protective coating over the entire roof.

Cedar Preservation Specialists cleaned and repaired our cedar shingle roof. The estimate for the amount of repair work needed was way too low and it took negotiating to avoid paying the full $1,000 overage charge. They should do a better job of estimating rather than low-ball it. The work as performed in a very professional manner and the crew cleaned up after themselves 100% every day.

We purchased a house this fall, which had a 20 year old cedar shake roof. We have a few other companies come out to look at it, and they all said that it needed to be replaced within the next year. Estimates ran between $18k-30k, and we have a medium size house. I found CPS on Angie's list, and they were able to repair the broken shingles (there were several replacements needed), refinish/stain and seal both of our roofs (house and garage) for about $3500. Additionally, they told us that is we continue to have then refinish and seal the roofs every 3 years, we may get another 10+ years out of our roof!! To top that off, our roof looks 100x better than it did with the previous owners. They were able to stain it a beautiful brown color, which complements our house. It's been over 6 months, and it still looks great (and is also working great). I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

CPS provided a very competitive quote. They arrived early in the morning, as indicated, and did a great job. Roof looks great. I will use again.

They were very clean and professional. They covered the outdoor furniture and the portion of the driveway closest to the house as well as continually washing down the windows so that none of the preservative adhered to the windows. They cleaned up beautiufully. My sister has been using them for 20 years and swears by them. I hiughly recommend them as well. They are a first class company.

Initially they came out for maintainance but it was too cold for them to finish. They came back and finished the job and they did a great job. They only charged us for what they had done. They cleaned up after themselves. It was great. They even went up to the attic to make sure the repairs were done and holding.

CPS must use contracted crews that are on pay per job basis. Their work was rushed and sloppy. There are several specific steps in the contract, and the crew that came out did not perform many of them as outlined in the contract. Specifically, they did not clean and power blow moss and debris from the roof. They painted over it. Their contract states that they "pay particular attention to the butt end of the shake, the most important part". Virtually none of the shakes were sprayed on the butt end. There was some paint dribble from the run off, but this was clearly ignored on a massive scale. The brads that hold the shingles down were not pounded in, and were sticking up in the same places as was the case before the job began. Also, I could see no evidence of any shingles being replaced. Either I have a perfect 15 year old roof, or they treated this aspect of the contract with the same lack of attention as all other aspects. Called the owner and he quickly responded and came out with a foreman (english speaking). We walked around the house and agreed what needed to be done. Later a non English speaking crew showed up without said foreman or supervisor. They fixed some of the issues, but largely did a poor job relative to the items that were reviewed. Can't figure out why I talked to one guy and had someone else show up. Called the owner again and he sent his top foreman. This guy addressed the issues and got the roof looking like (from what I can see from the ground) the promised work in the contract. CPS was definately the lowest of 3 bids I solicited, almost 1/2 of the highest bid. None the less, I don't think I should have to do quality control and site management for a contracted service. The owner eventually made things right (again, as far as I can see) so I can say the job was finally completed. You will have to decide if the low cost is worth your time to be on site to supervise the job. I would not permit them to do the work again without personally being on site.

Went well. Cleaned up mess pretty thoroughly afterwards. Will have to have windows cleaned, but we expected that we would and they told us they would be a bit streaky afterwards. Overall we were happy with CPS and would use them again.

The team (5-people) were fantastic. Very informative and friendly and concerned how we perceived their work. This is a first rate crew, Charles was the team leader and he is the best!

The Good: Tim was easy to work with and he was responsive to our questions and requests prior to the service. We had to schedule the roof treatment around some other work being done on our home, which ended up taking longer than we expected. We appreciated his patience and his willingness to be flexible. The Bad: The work crew made a surprise visit on a hot, humid Saturday morning. Heavy rain showers were forecast for mid-day. They assured us that the treatment would be dry before the showers arrived. I had strong doubts, given the thick humidity in the air. Right after they finished the treatment, we had some heavy downpours. There is no way the roof was dry. Rivers of grey-colored water came gushing out of the downspouts. The roof took on a streaked appearance. I am confident that we lost a good deal of the chemical that day. Tim came back and said that the roof looked fine and he reminded us of the 5-year warranty. The Ugly: Before they began, we asked the work crew to please be careful with our vegetation and new landscaping around the home. (The CPS literature also says that they are careful with our home and vegetation.) Well, to say the least, they made a mess of the vegetation and windows. Refer to the attached photo for a sample of what I m describing. Their careful work consisted of one guy on the roof with a high-power sprayer and lots of overspray coming down onto the ground. And a second guy on the ground with a hose, spraying everything in sight as the overspray fell down. (Tim later told me that this is the normal way they apply the preservative.) It seems to me that they had the compressor on high because there was almost as much overspray coming down as there was spray hitting the roof. Maybe they were in a hurry to finish before the rains came. A lower pressure applicator would have allowed a neater and more precise application of the treatment. As it was, they blew it on fast and furious. And about their advertised claim to clean the skylight. Sorry. They may have gone thru the motions, or maybe not, but my skylight is now spotted and streaky. In conclusion, I m not confident that my roof is fully protected. But I have no way of knowing whether it s protected until I have a problem and it s too late. I just have to trust that the shingles will be OK. Overall, this was not a good experience. I was happy with their roof treatment 6 years ago but it s a far different story now. The damage caused to my vegetation, the mess on my windows and the potential reduced protection on my roof is a great concern. Tim offered to re-spray the roof but I didn't want even more mess. As it was, I had to pay someone to clean my windows. My plants and landscaping will just remain streaked grey for the summer. I ended up negotiating a 25% price reduction with Tim due to the mess.

I called their company and they called back the same day. The person came that afternoon to give me an estimate. Scheduled my appointment for one month later. They showed up when expected and went right to work. They worked all day. It was a great experience to have them to our house. Very professional and courteous. Price was fair. I had a 10% discount off the original price of $2070 which equaled to $1863 for the work done. They did the work in 8 hours (2900 sq. ft/with 3 car garage and sunroom with glass roof). They hosed off the glass roof on the sunroom till clean. Picked up any debris laying around and cleaned up. I will definitely be calling them again if needed. I am very happy with their work.

They were great. They wire brushed power blew and washed the roof back to it's original color. They applied a mildecide. They re fastened all of the shake. They replaced shakes where needed and re caulked when needed especially in the ridge caps. They cleaned the skylights. They were very clean and neat. Before the work they gave a very detailed estimate outlining everything the would be doing and the cost for such. They gave a 5 year warranty. They ended up saving us between $35 - $40,000. This was done last July and I have not had any leaks since.
