I had nothing but trouble with ABC fence from the minute they stepped on my property. They damaged my garage & driveway. The fence across the back of my property is 42 ft. They put up 5 8 ft. sections and a 2 ft. section. I asked John why they didn't put up six 7 ft. sections he had no sensible answer. The work they did was SLOPPY and now I'm stuck with an eye sore for a fence. I guess you don't get much for $9000 any more. Don't hire ABC fence or you'll be as sorry as I am.

Had these folks come out to do some weather damage repair on an existing fence and also add some features (new small fence area and access gate). They came out the same day I called them to look at my work and gave me a fair price. I awarded the project as it was about what I thought it should cost and was willing to pay. Told me their time frame to get in and we agreed.
They ended up with an opening in their schedule and asked if they could come early? Worked out well for me so they came. Work was performed exactly as I asked them to do. They remained on the time schedule that they said. One day of complete rain out made the actual completion date one day late but this was not their fault. Cleaned up after themselves which was nice, too.
Very satisfied with their work!

I chose ABC because I wanted the tongue-in-groove cedar. They offered me this material at the best price. I am happy with the result, but there were some snags in the process.
First, they were late by about two hours; they didn't call to let me know.
They removed all the old fencing and installed new posts on the first day. They returned on the second day to put up the fence. I let them do their work, but when I came out about halfway through the work on the north fence, I noticed that the last two sections were not level. I pointed this out to one of the workers, who at first looked puzzled. I showed him what I meant, and he agreed. He called ABC's owner, John, who returned to the job site. They somehow managed to remove nails and level out the sections. I'm not sure how, and I hope that no damage was done to the wood in order to accomplish this. But the fence now looks level. We do have an uneven, rocky back yard, so part of the problem may have been the uneven terrain.
I thought that John was a bit prickly through this process, but he did resolve this problem as well as another that occurred with the height of the fencing around the gate. And I'm always put off when contractors say things like and quot;nothing's ever perfect.and quot; He mentioned that our yard was hard to work in because of the uneven terrain, that his men were used to long, suburban fences with fairly level ground.
I think the plan should have been more detailed because as the workmen were building the fence, questions kept coming up on how to do things. I would have preferred to work through these questions with John before work began. Also, I would expect anyone building a fence to continually check the leveling, so I was disappointed that this wasn't a given, that I had to point out the problem.
In my view, the installers were more workmen rather than craftsmen. They did their job, but attention to detail was missing at times. Also, they did a lot of digging to install the posts, but they left the rocks and clay on the top of the garden plots. I had to have someone come in later, remove this stuff, and add more top soil. I think more could have been done to protect and/or restore my garden areas.
But the materials are excellent, the price was attractive, and the fence looks good. If you hire ABC, definitely pin down all details ahead of time and give the job some oversight.

They had the best price. I would use them in the future if necessary.

The estimator showed up quickly and gave an estimate on the spot. Once I called and told them they had the job, they put me on the list and I sent them a check for the deposit (20%). They originally told me work would start in about three weeks and would take about a day and a half. When I called at the end of the three weeks, they said they were a week behind and would be there the next week. They showed up on time in the morning and started prepping the area for the new/replacement posts. They installed the posts in about six hours and came back the next day to finish. Site cleanup was thorough and neat. The completed fence is well constructed and visually appealing. Very nice job.

They were very accommodating. Even with the blizzard, they are committed to finishing the work. The work thus far is impeccable and the price is reasonable. I am very pleased with the quality of work and the responsiveness from Mr. Ottow! GREAT COMPANY AND GREAT PEOPLE!
