Sometimes you wonder how a contractor can sleep at night.  This is one of those.  Tony did not have the license or the skills to do my job, but wouldn't admit it.  I gave him plans in late June.  By December he still hadn't managed to get an accurate quote for the work we needed done, though he took a deposit check of $5000.  He did not return any of the deposit money.  Within two weeks of hiring another contractor, we were well under way.  The new contractor completely rejected the manner in which Tony approached our remodel.  For instance, Tony and his sub, Mid Towne Construction, would have completely torn the roof and ceiling off of my living room and dining room, exposing a 20 x 40 area to the elements in January.  They'd have had what was the garage area of the home completely torn off the house so as to pour a foundation in beneath so that we could turn the garage into the master bedroom.  The new contractor fixed the structural issues in the living room and dining room in an afternoon without tearing the roof and ceiling off, and had it inspected by the building inspector.  The building inspector also agreed with the new contractor that completely tearing off and excavating the garage was completely unnecessary.  Tony was impossible to reach for weeks at a time.  He delayed our project for over six months.  Which was far less than the time the new contractor took to do the complete job.  Nicholson does not have the proper licenses to do general contracting, and so had one of his subs contract directly with us.  Because we had to fire both Nicholson and Mid Towne, we lost over $7000.00 because of dealing with them.  I cannot stress strongly enough how unprofessional and inept this company is.

It has always gone amazingly smoothly. If he runs into a glitch, he comes to you with a suggested solution. His esimates are accurate and fair. We have referred friends and family to him and everyone is always extremely pleased. He is intelligent, personable, and systematic.
