Wrightway Home Improvement LLC

About us

Formerly known as Wright Energy Systems Inc. started by Dave and Carol Wright, Wrightway entered the marketplace by offering energy efficient products in 1977, including foam insulation, solar panels, air to air exchange systems, and in ground heating systems. As the energy crisis lessened and governmental tax incentive and credits to homeowners and businesses were no longer available the marketplace for such products shrunk substantially. The Wright's made the decision in the early 80's to continue to offer energy efficient products and entered the home remodeling market. Currently Wrightway specializes in siding, gutters, gutter protection, doors, replacement windows and insulation. In July of 2007 the new ownership of Wrightway made the decision to expand our product line to include a roofing system, retractable awnings and composite deck solutions. Today Wrightway is owned by Joe Mand and Jon Pitzen, their vision is to continue to grow the company the same way it was built, by offering superior products, excellent service and exceeding customer expectations.

Wrightway is the installer of the name brand Gutter Helmet for SE Wisconsin. From the estimator to the installers, everything was very professional, courteous, polite and answered our questions thoroughly. I did a price check against a major competitor and they were more affordable and paid attention to details.

They came out and did an estimate right after I called them and once I'd accepted their quote, were very quick to do the work.  The only reason I put a B" on professionalism was because the paperwork for the quote was quite informal and left me a bit puzzled.  However, it was specific as to what they would be installing.  .

I had other quotes, and while their price was equal to another option and better than another.  Wrightway had done the gutter on the other side of my garage and had corrected the pitch of a gutter on the back of my house installed in the past by another company, so I trusted they would do good work and they did.

When finished they left me with 2 sheets of spare vinyl, I was pleased but slightly confused by the many boxes of sheet vinyl they did not use. Other contractors who were at the house showed me where Wrightway use left over scraps to finish the job. But I was okay with that because the project was done and from the sidewalk it was not noticed. Here are the problems that followed; the electrical source they used for power was for the air conditioner and was was not plugged in properly when the fisished and was discovered by the heating/cooling company. Wrightway took the $85.00 service call off my bill once I sent in the Invoice stating that it was not plugged in properly. The siding started to melt  in December 2012, I was advised by wrightway to contact the distributor, they in turn wanted me to cut out a section 5' X 4' and federal express the the siding being careful not package the siding so it would not bend. I spoke to Joe and stated to him I was not going to take that large chunk of siding out the front of my house and especially when I don't know what I was doing.. He offered to replace  it with steel siding in white (at a cost to me) and I could try to paint it to match. It was then he told me to look on the internet to see that my window was reflecting on the siding, and acting like a magnifying glass. This problem was discovered in 1990 and Joe said it was the first time he has ever heard about it. What was eventually decided he would sell me replacement siding (remember they left me with only 2 pieces). He would not install it though. I placed an awning over the window and it solved my problem. But I am left with the melted siding. I want everyone to know he is now very aware and should discuss this with potential  clients.
Next problem:  at my front door, the vinyl trim where the corners meet vertical & horizontal have a nearly 1/2" gap on both sides of the door. The trim piece above my  15' garage door is 2 pieces that don't contact each other leaving a 2/3" gap. Next issue: the roof was leaking in my garage and stained my drywall, Joe argued with me for months about how he did not do a roofing job and when I finally used the correct term "roof deck" and the water stains were in line with the 3'  roof deck replacement meet the existing. Someone finally came out and kept telling me that water follows the path of least resistance and it was coming from some where else and when he gets up on the roof to inspect it was discovered that the ice and water shied was not put on. Final problem: the shakes on my front gable are falling off. I called  the office on 1/19/2015 and they submitted a work order on 1/21/2015 Joe returned my call and said to keep the piece of shake inside my porch and keep the door unlocked so he can reuse it. Now 8 weeks later and no repair I called Wrightway again and they have caller ID and knew who I was and would call me back which they did and said they have a potential job near by coming up in 2 weeks and will swing by and I said I will see you in 2 weeks and his response was it might be longer it's a potential job. I feel I have been jerked around long enough and feel it is because I am a woman.

I know the company has changed management and employees. When Dave Wright was the owner, his staff did an excellent job. The pricing was fair and the quality of their workmanship was great. The staff was also very responsive. I never had any difficulties getting in contact with the company or scheduling a service with them. I am now waiting for hem to do some gutter work for me. I believe they are pretty booked up right now so the service has not been started.

The service turned out wonderfully. They were able to resolve a roof issue that 2-3 other companies could not. We have used the company a few other times in the past. Two technicians came out and completed the job in 1 day. They did a great job with cleaning up after the job. The staff is very responsive and came out as soon as we needed them. I would definitely use the company again.

I have been very pleased with their services. The crew was fantastic. They are clean and professional. We were very happy with both jobs. They did have to come back once to fix an issue but they were very responsive to that. The pricing is competitive. I would definitely hire the company again. I have never had any difficulties contacting the company or schedule a service with them.

It was wonderful. They found the leaks and were very professional. The work was done timely once they got the parts. It was a good experience overall.

So far, I fell they are poor communicators. I have had to be very proactive to get an answer or response from them after I signed the contract. I assumed they would contact me once they received the contract and declare a start date for the work. I just had to call several times to get that done. The salesman was great and I had no problem with him.

We have used Wrightway in the past for replacement windows and we were very happy with their service then too. We thought we would use them quote our roof. For our roof, it took two days. Both times I would come home from work, the yard was super clean. If I didn't know I had a new roof, you would have never known they were there! Really happy with our shingle selection and they are a preferred installer for Owens Corning products so you get a better warranty. We will use Wrightway for other future projects as well
