PREFERRED PLUMBING & INSPECTIONS

We were doing a Kitchen Remodel. We actually did the initial disconnect and removed the sink cabinet. Doug, the owner, came out and and cut the drain pipe to the proper length and listened to our request to move the hot and cold copper lines to the back of the cabinet for the new sink cabinet location. He was on time, did what he needed to do and moved on to his next job. I was very happy with the quality of his work in moving the copper lines and capping them.
After many delays on the counter top and constant rescheduling he had Luke come out to do the install. Very positive attitude. He arrived on time and was responsive to my comments on the Blanco flange, and he was professional.
Luke did a great job with the installation, very clean work, good attention to detail, and actually listened to me when he ran into a problem with the Blanco flange (color matched to the sink) for the InSinkErator. A quick check of the directions and he figured out how it worked making my wife and I very happy. Even good plumbers learn something.
He cleaned up after his work and told us he would be back that afternoon to test the Air Gap value. I followed up with the Sun Prairie Inspectors and arranged a 1pm inspection time and communicated that to Luke. At 1pm the owner, Doug arrived with the new Air Gap value; great coverage between Doug and Luke. The Plumbing inspector showed up 15 minutes late and the value was tested and passed. Dough installed the value and left.
I have seen lots of plumbing below the sinks and this one was done well. Clean, keeping pipes as high as possible to allow use of the space below the sink
Cost was higher than expected and they do try to help by using any components from the old installation. None of the others said they would do that. I normally get two quotes but got three for this job. Preferred Plumbing had the best price and was half of one of the major Madison Plumbing remodelers and less than another local Plumber. They maybe the lowest cost supplier but their quality and professionalism was excellent.
We highly recommend them and plan to use them for our bathroom remodel project next year.

Very prompt to respond and quick to complete work. Quality of work was excellent. Doug and his crew conducted themselves in a very professional manner.
My only complaint (and it's really not directed specifically towards Preferred) was the cost of the excavation work that was subcontracted. The charge to dig a trench and later backfill it was double what I paid for excavating for the foundation of a 600 sq. ft. addition I built just a few years ago.
The bill for the work done directly by Preferred was fair (not cheap) especially considering they could have had me over a barrel.
I really hope they invest in their own excavating equipment in the future.

He was also a plumbing inspector. That reassured me that the work that he would do would be up to code.

Responsiveness was too slow so we used someone else.
