CHESTERFIELD ANIMAL BOARDING KENNEL

Oh. My. GOD!! These folks were so great! They offer to use their own food to feed the animals, which is really nice, and since I'd never been there before they gave me a full walk-through of the dog-run area. The immediately began by socializing my dog with the other dogs, and letting her quickly explore the play area. In less than a minute she was wagging and smiling, and she seemed so at ease and happy. When we went and picked up her on Sunday, the proprietor (Cindy?) told an assistance that we were there to pick up the sweetest dog they had, and the assistant brought us our dog without hesitation. That said to me that they really took the time to get to know and appreciate our dog, which is highly impressive considering what a large capacity they have. Our dog seems just as happy and in good spirits as when we dropped her off, so I can tell she had a good weekend. Even though this kennel is a half hour away from us (we live in Stoughton) we will definitely be going back, and recommending Chesterfield to everyone we know.

We have used Chesterfield for boarding several times and have been very pleased. They have gotten to know our dogs and we feel they are well cared for. In the runs, the dogs have outdoor access, plus get time out of the kennel without any extra charges. We also love the country location. Another thing we really like is that they open for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoons for pickup which gets our dogs back home faster.

Chesterfield is a great place to board your pet. The staff is incredible! Very friendly and professional. We have a very high energy dog who can be a lot to handle and the staff was great with him. He takes some time to warm up to people and they were very patient with him. Chesterfield has a large open field for the dogs to run and play-this was a great fit for our dog. We would recommend Chesterfield to anyone. It is over 30 minutes away from our home and it is well worth the drive because we know our dog will get great care while we are gone.

We have been using Chesterfield Kennel for the last four years. Our dog loves it there and we know he is in very good hands. Craig and Sue are wonderful people and do a marvelous job with the dogs. The kennel was recommended to us by a dear friend, who is a veterinarian. She said that Chesterfield was the only kennel in the area to which she would entrust her own dogs. What more can one say!

I am so happy I found Chesterfield through Angie's List. I have been using them for about a year now. When I first called them, they encouraged me to bring my dog for a visit to check it out before he came to stay which was a great idea. All of the animals get out of their kennels for exercise several times a day. The dogs get to play outside in the huge exercise yard and the cats get some individual time to hang out by the window of the cat room or climb the cat trees. If you have a social dog, Sue and Craig will match him up with other dogs with similar temperaments so they can play together in the fenced-in exercise yard so your dog also makes lots of new friends. For our first visit, we boarded our dog and cat for over two weeks while we were out of the country. I called Sue a couple of days after we had left and found the cat wasn't eating very well. Sue had a plan all worked out to make him comfortable and get him eating, including tempting him with tuna and arranging for my dog to hang out with him for a while so he knew he wasn't there by himself. When I called her again two days later, the cat was eating and had settled happily. I was so impressed by how caring Sue and Craig were and how much they were willing to do to help my cat settle in comfortably. When I picked up my pets at the end of our vacation, both pets were happy and healthy looking. They were both very affectionate towards Sue and Craig so I knew they'd had plenty of attention while we were gone. Since then, I have boarded my dog several other times for overnight or weekend trips. I only board the cat if we're gone for longer trips so he hasn't been back yet. The dog gets so excited when he realizes where we are going and can't get in the place quickly enough to see Craig and Sue. Chesterfield Kennel is almost 30 miles away from my home but I would never go anywhere else now. It's worth the drive just for the peace of mind. We got a new puppy a couple of months ago and he has also been to Chesterfield with the older dog, the first time for an overnight and then for a weekend. The puppy had a great time and was well looked after. As well as letting him play with my older dog, they also matched him up with some other social dogs to play with so he had lots of exercise and socialization opportunities. Unfortunately, right before the overnight trip, my older dog hurt himself so we had to take him to our vet and found he had somehow aggravated an existing hip problem. My vet asked which kennels we were going to and, when I told her it was Chesterfield, she told me she had no problems with him going there overnight, as she knew they would take good care of him. She was absolutely right. Sue made sure he got his medication and that he didn't overdo it and make hip problem any worse. I can't say enough good things about Chesterfield. This place is awesome! Sue and Craig are lovely people who put a lot of effort into making our pets comfortable and happy while we're gone.

We have been going to Chesterfield since our 15 year old dog was about a year old. Sue, Craig, and their staff know the dogs so well that we never think twice about having to leave them (though I miss them while I am gone). They know the personalities, the eating / activity habits of both dogs, and manage to give all of the dogs individual attention, even when the place is full. As our dog has gotten older, they have been especially accommodating to his needs. The kennel space is well designed so that there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space for each dog. The huge play yard (a large, grassy area) is great! Older dogs get "play time" with other dogs of the same activity level, which is really nice. They make sure that young dogs get plenty of play time, also with appropriate playmates. And there is no extra charge for this, unlike our previous kennel. We board our dog(s) at least twice a year. Make reservations well in advance for holiday stays. At other times of the year, it's more flexible - in fact, Craig and Sue were wonderful when we had a death in the family and had to make sudden arrangements to board the dogs and leave town at night after closing time. We have to drive twenty miles (one way) to get to Chesterfield, but we would not board the boys anywhere else.

I brought my shih tzu/poodle mix dog in on a Sunday after I had a negative experience with another kennel (they didn't give his meds properly). Chesterfield was able to take my dog and he stayed for 4 days. The Stamms gave him his meds, monitored his eating (normally doesn't eat well away from home) and found a playmate for him. They take the dogs out for a run in a large grassy area 5x/day - weather permitting. I was quite anxious regarding kennels and Craig and Sue (and kids) took great care of my dog and allayed all of my concerns

I have used them for over eight years now and they know me pretty well. They are a small family owned business and the owners are very nice to us. The staff always gives me a full report of what they did with my dog like taking them for walks and playing with them.
