"I am writing to respond to [members name removed] review. I do understand his frustration on his car repairs; however, I would like to clarify the time frame. [removed members name] came in with his 2001 Toyota Corolla with 175,014 miles in September with a frozen right side caliper. We replaced the bad caliper and brake hose and replaced pads and rotors, because they were damaged from the caliper. At the time we inspected the left side and it was operating correctly. Because of the mileage of vehicle, we did not want to sell any unnecessary work. In November (2,400 miles later) the mileage was 177,415 and the left side caliper failed. If this happened a week later I would tend to empathize more with [members name removed]. In our business it is difficult to predict mechanical failure on high mileage cars. We replaced the bad caliper and hose like the other side & replaced the pads. Our facility did not charge [members name removed] for the second pair of brake pads as a courtesy, even though the caliper problem was not our fault. We did however charge him the cost of the caliper, brake hose and nine/tenths of an hour for the time to replace the parts. This is a significant labor discount for this job. Our facility prides ourselves on thorough quality work, and on NOT over selling our customers. We regret that [members name removed] was not happy with the outcome, but we stand behind our work and prices.
