JNS Remodeling and Jon Offutt are the BEST example of how contractors should be! He responded to my initial calls for information quickly, set an appointment to evaluate my house project, and was very diligent about working on the project continuously. He is the perfect balance between doing exactly what the client wants and using his experience to advise against bad decisions. We hired him to do our Master Bathroom and Kitchen and the results are wonderful! Between the two rooms we asked for luxury vinyl plank and tile flooring, painted cabinets, new fixtures, new tub with unique tile surround, and a new window. Jon is very much about the details and has high standards for his work. Our project came in priced less with Jon than the companies that refused to view our house, or insisted on total tear-back-to-studs construction. Jon’s communication and professionalism are second to none. He is clean on the project site and always checked in with me on timing and decisions along the way. While his contacts for materials are great, I was also able to do my own research and procure materials if I preferred. (Although I must say a special Thank You to Linda at Four Seasons and the team at Crafted Countertops. These vendors also speak highly of Jon and have been working with him for years.) I am happy to be a reference for Jon and show off his excellent work!

We are thrilled to have been able to have Jon as our contractor on this project. His quality of work is excellent and he is very knowledgeable about building codes. We initially spoke with him and got a quote in late 2017 and he was open about being booked out for some time thereafter. It was absolutely worth the wait to draw up a contract with him. His pricing was very competitive and for our job, he was able to do all the work himself in a 2-week period (late Feb/March 2018) versus sub-contracting out to others. He allowed us to purchase the cabinets, countertop slab, and dishwasher on our own and then we paid him separately for his work. He gave helpful advice on how and when to get the cabinets on sale (e.g. Lowe's sale + manufacturer discount, etc.) which was much appreciated. He was on our job daily once he started. Jon had to run water lines for our new dishwasher and hook that up and it has been working great ever since. He also did a great job of containing dust during the project and cleaning up each day so that we could still utilize our kitchen in the evenings. He covered our tile and recently-installed laminate flooring to protect it during the wall demo and also took care of all the debris disposal throughout the project. We definitely want to work with Jon again in the future when we have home improvement needs, and would recommend him highly to others. He is very professional and his work is impressive! I will let the before and after pictures speak for themselves. Last but not least, his attention to detail is amazing. Thank you, Jon!

Now that I re-write all the things that Jon Offut did around our house, I am appreciating again what a value we got with his services. He did not change his contract estimate by a penny once he was contracted. I feel that for all the work he performed, we got a fair price.
Jon's initial estimate was two or three weeks to get everything done. It ended up being just over 4 weeks. I have zero problem with this, since we weren't in a hurry, and I would rather see everything done right.
In terms of "getting it done right," I think Jon's work is as close to perfect as a person can get. His work is immaculate and I am thrilled with the quality and craftsmanship. His repainting is clean and very neat, his drywall work is flawless and the light fixtures are perfectly done. He cuts no corners on anything. He seems to me to be a walking encyclopedia of building code and laws, and does everything to a high standard. He will let you know if anything is lacking and needs to be changed. He REALLY knows what he is doing. He is both an expert, as well as a craftsman who can deliver a great product.
Jon is friendly and easygoing. A text, a call or a change of plan is met with a quick response, and an accommodating one. This was invaluable. The second thing I so appreciated was that, while he was working in the kitchen for many days in a row, he cleaned up the work area EVERY day, so that when we were home in the evening, our kitchen was ready for use. We never had to live or walk around a mess.
I will absolutely be using JNS for all of our contracting needs in the future - and they are many!

This was our first remodeling project and didn't know what to expect. John made the whole process easy for us to understand. He stayed in budget even when problems associated with a older house came up. The work he did for our bathroom was amazing. It turned out much better than expected.

It went without a hitch. Jon is a professional who listens to his customer and we worked very well together ranging from selection of materials to installation. He delivers and is committed to make sure that the overall project is done with perfection and on time.
He is very knowledgeable and faced numerous challenges during the actual installation since my house is over 100 years old and the garage problems were unique. I have had neighbors comment that the garage looks terrific. Many people had suggested that I tear down and replace but Jon convinced me that this was not necessary.
Overall total satisfaction with all elements of the project.

Jon was very professional, punctual and professional. In addition to building the new stairs, he also helped get my house back in shape after a pipe broke and caused a flood. He had to install new drywall, replaced trim, reinstalled the closets and painted the walls and trim in two bedrooms and hallway. While he was working, he noticed that the carpet people had done a lousy job of installing the carpet and had reused carpet strips that really didn't have enough teeth to secure the carpet properly. He called the company himself, spoke to the person in charge, and they came back out and fixed the problem at no charge. while working on the stairs, he noticed that the plumbing people had left a bunch of old pipe and trash in the crawl space area and he cleaned it all out and took it to the trash without me asking him to do it at no charge. He really did above and beyond what I would normally expect and would highly recommend him to anyone. He has an excellent work ethic and likes to make sure things are done right. He also is meticulous in how he leaves a job, very clean and detailed in how he works.

Awesome. I had held off on contacting Jon because I had been put-off by no less than 3 local remodelers (in and around the Lake Geneva area) who weren't interested in working with me unless I had a major (and major bucks) renovation project. I was looking to build a good working relationship with a local company that can grow with my family's needs as we slowly upgrade our home. We chose JNS and we chose well! Jon is honest, knowledgeable, and precise. He listened to our goals for our home and made reasonable, insightful, and practical suggestions for not only the kitchen renovation project but, as well, for our next project - a master closet rebuild. He allowed us to research and find suppliers who were within our budget. And, his work is absolutely impeccable! I can't wait to begin our next project with him.

The work was done well and when a problem occurred with a couple of screens, due to underlying issues, Jon came right back out and fixed the problem. I plan to use Jon on other projects we have on our list of home improvement repairs.

We have not had the best of luck with contractors doing what they say they would do, so Jon Offutt was a pleasant surprise for us. He kept us informed on each step of the job, showed up each day when he said he would be here, did the work he said he would do and was meticulous in that work.
The quality of the work is excellent and we will definitely use him again for any other work we may need to have done in the future.
