The whole project went very well, from design, to layout and choosing of plants. They performed as expected and were true professionals.

DTE applied organic fertilizer to my yard several times last season. My front yard grew wonderfully! Very lush and green. The back yard showed improvement, but needs more sun and probably seeding. Anthony was great about consulting with me and very knowledgeable about different types of grasses that might help my yard more successful.
The shrubs purchased at the store grew really well and were high quality bushes and flowers. I anticipate their return in the spring since they did well all summer, but DTE does provide a guarantee on them as well if they do not return.

Everything went really well. They are very creative and very good quality of work. They were the only landscaping company that listened and worked with my wife. They solved a lot of issues with us as far as draining and getting water away from the house. They finished all the landscaping and brought out all the plants to our property, that way they let my wife pick out what she wanted instead of her having to come to the nursery. They have really great customer service. On the fly I was able to ask for certain things I wanted and they were quick to accommodate. It takes a lot of coordination to pull off a job like ours. The foreman that day did a great job finished a large job in just one day. They utilized our current plants and landscaping. An outstanding feather with them is when they came to bid the work it only took them one day to draw up the plans with colored pictures of every angle of the home via email. I would definitely recommend them and work with them again. The price was very fair and accurate.

Down to Earth has not done the job yet, but based on their bid (and the process), we are very excited about what they have in store for us.
About a year ago, an employee from the center visited our property, listened to our ideas, answered our questions, and took pictures. A bit later, they gave us an estimate and also overlayed ideas for landscaping on top of our current layout in the pictures. When we asked for some things to be revised/edited (to make it a bit more affordable for us), they were very happy to do so. We are removing medium sized rocks from around the entire perimeter beds of our house, sharp stainless steel edging, and a number of old, large half-dead shrubs. They will be adding soil, mulch, bullet edging, and an assortment of plants/shrubs, while also extending the beds out further. Overall, I see it as a major job, and their estimate was about the same as other competitors, but they seemed more friendly and "full service". Based on that, and the other reviews on Angie's List, we decided to go with them and put money down.
The person we were working with is no longer employed by Down to Earth, which we found out when I contacted them in late June to ask about us visiting their garden center to meet with a representative and pick out plants. This concerned me quite a bit, but when my wife and I visited in early July, we met with Ben, who was very nice, patient, and knowledgable. We need plants that deer will not eat, and he helped us pick some from their inventory. Again, they have not performed the work yet, but if their landscaping work is as excellent quality as their customer service and their garden center, I have no doubt that I'll be leaving another review or updating this one in the next month with more positive things to say.
We're excited to see what Down to Earth does with our landscaping, and hope it is a good experience, so that we can use them for many more projects we have in mind in the future and refer them to our neighbors in the area!

They did an excellent job. The crew was highly available to us and were very punctual. They were very solisitice of our opinions on all the work that they did. The crew was also very friendly and thorough. They explained everything out to us regarding what they were doing and why. Their line of communication with us was very good. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing any landscaping work done.
This was the second time that we had used their services. They had built a pond for us in our backyard. They did an excellent job on this as well. THey were very efficient. They got the entire job, pump to run the waterfall, etc, all in one day! They even used some of the dirt from digging the pond out to build up a trail that I use to drive the tractor on.

Down to Earth is a FANTASTIC company! The estimate was complete and creative. They listened to my needs and came up with low-cost strategies to help me get more for my money. The crew was outstanding. They worked clean and even went above and beyond (clipping some nearby rogue weeds and adding rock to a nearby tiny bed so everything would match). The overall result was more than I'd hope for and I will definitely use Down to Earth again. Also - if you haven't visited their stores (Cadott and Eau Claire) you would love the plants and adorable gifts.
