The heavy snow caused a lot of damage.  We could barely see the ground for all of the downed limbs.  After initially clearing and chipping the front yard, the bucket truck could get to the trees to deal with the hanging branches and broken limbs.  While one person trimmed, another pulled the downed branches to the chipper operated by the third person.  Their teamwork was very professional.  They clearly had worked together for some time.  The foreman (who also ran the bucket truck and did all of the aerial work) kept everyone on task and was very helpful making suggestions for trimming and cleanup.

It took them a while to come out and do the cutting but once they did it they were fine. But, they were a little stalled in getting at it. The crew that came out was really efficient. In terms of the work itself, they did a very good job. I think that the issue we had was that there was so much business going on because of that huge storm and they were trying to catch up on stuff. That's the impression that I got.

They were absolutely outstanding, I have no complaints. I thought they were very reasonable priced for the amount of work they did. They did the stump removal including the roots. They also cleaned up every leaf.

Dan first stopped by (on a Sunday) to look over the yard and trees.
He prepared an estimate and gave a general time frame to complete the
work.  I did have to call several times when I thought they were coming
over and they didn't show up.  I think Dan and his crew are extremely
busy, especially in the month of August.  Then one day they showed up
ready to do the work ... unexpected but happy to see them.  They all
were extremely professional and super careful not to damage anything in
the yard.  The 4 guys that did the clean-up were so friendly and worked
very hard.  Dan did the careful work of cutting down the tree and
grinding the stump.  Perfect job.  I'm super pleased and have already
recommended his business to several friends.  This was the first time I
used this company and would definitely use them again.  I found them
on Angie's List.  They are bonded and insured which is important for
this type of work.  They've been in business a long, long time.  Dan
also honored the 5% Angie's List discount.  Thank you!

I considered the estimated cost of the original job to be very reasonable ($100.00 per tree) and the additional price for the limb removal (considering the amount of limbs removed) to be more than reasonable ($250.00).  The work started on the day promised and progressed rapidly.

I am very pleased with the results.  It was obvious that the crew was professionals.  The crew did a great job of cleaning up and actually removed several smaller trees and saplings, at my request, without additional charge.  In the cleanup, they not only removed the debris that resulted from the job, but removed a small pile of limbs and brush that I had piled up before they came.  Stumps were ground down to a level well below the surface of the lawn which will prevent mowing problems next summer.  The overall job from tree removal too cleanup was excellent!

I strongly recommend the service of Big Rivers Tree Service and I will definitely reuse their services if the need  arises in the future.

I was very impressed with his trimming abilities while he was WAY up there in his lift. It was like watching the ballet. NOT ONE branch hit my house. The cleanup was like getting my lawn thatched for free! There is not one branch, stick or leaf left when he departed. He has a cool tree shredder too, having a vintage Ford motor (1959 V-8) with straight pipes and those macho cool flappers. Several times I asked him to just let it idle so that I could listen to it...cool!
