I contacted Jake and he was incredibly generous with his time and provided excellent communication. He was incredibly flexible with scheduling and came out promptly to estimate/recommend the work to be done. His estimate came in lower than we expected, and right on par with some other local companies. Jake & his crew were able to complete our work in less than a day and it looks great.
We couldn't be happier with our experience with Paragon and the work they performed.
It took a little longer than expected to start the work, but in the exterior remodeling business that's all dependent on the weather. Once we got on the schedule, it took their crew two days to tear off and completely reshingle the roof. The gutters were replaced in one day.
The windows....well, that's another story...There were two large (Ok huge) casement windows and two picture windows about the same size. One came in from the manufacturer with a defect and took a long time to get replaced. I don't think that's Paragon's fault, but worth mentioning. Once we received the replacement, it took them a couple of days to replace the windows and address my concerns about wood rot around the old windows.
"Thank you for the review! If there is ever anything else we could do to help you out, please let me know."
"Thank you for the review. We appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback us."
"We appreciate your review very much! Please contact us at anytime if anything ever comes up. It was a pleasure working with you and talking with your neighbors."
"We appreciate this review a lot! While I understand that finances always are a factor in any major decision like this, I still wish we would have been able to do business together though. Please keep us in mind for any future projects you may have where we could assist you."
"I was under the impression all issues and problems were resolved. We also spoke on the phone numerous times. Perhaps because it has been over a year, the interaction that had occurred is not accurately remembered. I do remember your roof being less than 5 years old with an original 50 year shingle and since I have not heard from you since our last correspondence in March of 2012, I assume we resolved the gutter issue as well. Thank you."
from Paragon seemed only interested in quoting me on a new roof, not on
locating the source of my current roof leak and solving that. He wasn't
really dressed for climbing around on my roof and actually performing
the leak repair.
I was okay with accepting a quote because I will be replacing the roof soon, but primarily I wanted the leak sealed up.
"I am quite taken back by this report. I personally met with the homeowner and discussed the condition of her roof. She knew that the roof was well past it's life expectancy and I confirmed that. Regarding my appearance, as a professional roofing company myself and our estimators wear nice shorts and polos to nearly all meetings. I climbed the roof, tarred the area she was concerned about and got measurements as she was interested in a full roof replacement. After a few rains and a few months of not hearing anything, I got a call from my financing company as she had applied for financing and was denied. I called to follow up and heard nothing back from her whatsoever. As far as I know, the leak was sealed up and I apologize that you felt the above and beyond service you received was deserving of such a negative review. We truly encourage all members to read all our positive reviews where homeowners actually had full projects flawlessly completed by us. Thank you."
"Thank you for the report. It is was a pleasure working with you and we can't wait to hear back from you regarding your future work!"
"Thank you for the review. We appreciate it that you were accommodating with the schedule. If there is anything else we can do in the future, please feel free to contact us."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the review. Please keep us in mind when you decide to do get your roof redone. Thanks again."
"Dear Member, Thanks for your review. Let us know if we can be of any assistance in the future."
I am happy with the Deal, but at the same time I felt like I paid a lot for what they did.
"Dear Member, Thank you for your review. The hole that we came out to inspect months after wasn't there when we first looked at the roof. We haven't heard from you since so I hope that has been taken care of for you! Please contact is at anytime if there is anything we could help you with."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the review. As always, if there is anything else you need in the future, do not hesitate to call us."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the report. As discussed upon initial inspection, your roof had already exceeded it's current life expectancy and there would not be anything we could do short of replacing it to help with anything. At this time you mentioned if we could remove the vines from your house. I told you a price that included a discount for the $99.00 in which you verbally agreed to. When you received the invoice, you had left me a voice mail saying that we did not do enough work that could command such a price and you would not pay us that amount but you would pay us if we came back to fix a problem with the shingles that occurred after we had left. As our schedule was delayed due to weather, we still came out and repaired that issue in which during the time, you were the most friendly and welcoming to the employees. It has been a few months in which we still have not received payment and I have written it up as a loss. In consideration of the $99.00 that you originally paid that was further discounted from the work we did, I am at a loss of words how you can feel that work "did not reach the value of the Angieslist amount advertised" when at the end of the day, the work we performed for you was absolutely free. Furthermore, I am saddened by the way things worked out especially after such a positive initial first meeting. I hope the work we performed will allow you to stretch out another year or two of life on your roof. Once again, thank you for the comments."
"Dear Member, As in the email I wrote to you, your roof isn't in bad shape, it didn't need too much to be done to it. When there are areas that look like they are properly done, there isn't too much we can do. My ethics don't allow me to exaggerate problems in order to attempt to get more money out of customers. As you are aware, after we met we had long periods of rain, thus delaying my entire schedule. We got there as promptly as we could, within two weeks of our initial conversation. When you emailed on October 1st, I responded within hours saying the guys had been sent out there. On October 12th when you emailed me, I responded on October 13th with what had been done. I am sure everything was looked at. In your last email you feel like you didn't get your moneys "worth" for what we did. I am sorry you feel that way and I even sent you a refund check, like you asked. Have a wonderful Holiday season."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the positive review! We appreciate it. If there is anything else you need in the future, don't hesitate to call."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the report! As we discussed, the main area of concern requires removing shingles, siding, installing new flashing and new shingles. I am glad that the smaller items that were included in the special were taken care of properly. We look forward to your call."
"Dear Member, Thank you for the report. It was a pleasure meeting and working with you. If you ever need anything else, please do not hesitate to call."
The siding took about 3 weeks to get as we wanted a special width that was not carried but as soon as it came in, Justin and his crew were out the next day and sided the garage. They did an excellent job and Justin went out of his way to make sure everything was as we wanted it.
We are very happy with the work done and would highly recommend Paragon exteriors.
"We appreciate the positive feedback and your patience regarding the siding. We are glad the process went smoothly for you and if you ever need anything else, feel free to contact Justin or the office at anytime!"
"Thank you for the positive report and the referrals you have given us. If there is anything else we can ever do for you, please do not hesitate to call!"
"Thank you for your comments and thank you for the referrals! We appreciate it."
"Unfortunately, this post isn't entirely accurate. Work began on this old home on September 7th and was completed on the 12th. We removed 3 layers of asphalt shingles, one layer of cedar shingles and re decked the roof with new decking. Now since this house is 110 years old. The mortar on the chimney was deteriorated to the point we had to inform the homeowner. We got the chimney leak proof, and informed her that she would need to call in a mason to tuck point the chimney. This never happened. We eventually had to make arrangements with her to remove the chimney and direct the furnace out the wall so we could be done with the job. This was completed in October. She opted not to have her gutters replaced and they had pulled out of her 5 decade old siding long before we showed up. The only debris that would have been in the gutter after we got done would be that of the new granules coming of the shingles. I personally was never made aware of the soffit but we would have been more than happy to take a look at replacing the soffit but this was not mentioned until a few weeks ago when we made contact regarding receiving the rest of the monies still owed to us. At this time we were informed someone else had already "taken care" of it. We are sorry that you feel like you were taken advantage of. We treat everyone with the same respect which has lead us to have numerous positive reviews in a short time."
"We are glad to hear that you are satisfied with our service."
