Description of Work: Sonicnet is an internet service provider in Wisconsin's north. It is wireless internet service is subject to power outages and extremely slow service when traffic is heavy on summer holidays and weekends. Despite its high cost of $50 monthly for 1mbps service (the technology is limited to 5 Mbps maximum) it never reaches your purchased capacity, and leads to extremely frustrating internet capability. I would not want to be a business user, the service would be a great detriment to operations. As it is, as a consumer customer, I limp along, paying ridiculously high rates for bare minimum service. Unfortunately, they can get away with this, due to a lack of infrastructure in the north woods, and no reliable competition. Government efforts to nurture infrastructure buildout are needed here for the economy to function in today's world.

I realize it is not a quick fix, and we certainly regret that. I have processed a refund of a portion of your annual fee to better reflect the speed of connection you have been getting. Because the fix involves extensive equipment changes, we will be working on this over the next few months. You should see dramatic improvement when you return to your North Woods home in the spring. We want you to know that this is not standard service level from SonicNet. Again, thanks for your comments and the chance to respond.

Great improvment over Hughes Net dish service. Very responsive, have had their service over 2 years and found them to be very reliable. Sometimes weather knocks out the service but they are very good at getting on the problem. We have the highest commercial plan there is and it is sometimes slower than advertised but still very good. DSL is not available in our area so this is a very good alternative. The people at Sonic are great to work with. Please don't use Hughes they are so bad--Always talking to India (trying to talk that is). Policies are all onesided Many, Many bad experiences with Hughes!
