Our garage door installer Mark did an Excellent job. He explained everything to me, got the work done and left everything neat. He obviously knew what he was doing and conducted himself in a very professional and courteous manner.

Job went really well. He was able to do the job right away and he showed up with the materials to fix the door. He was a nice guy who was easy to talk to. He gave a fair price and gave lots of good advice for garage door maintenance. I would definitely use him again.  

It went great!   He was able to come the same day I called.  He was right on time, very professional!!  I was charged what he told me over the phone and he was done in no time!  If I ever have a garage door issue, I will be calling Bill at Kohler Overhead Door!

The installation went very well.  He also cleaned up after himself and did a good job overall with the total installation process.

A spring on our garage door broke, leaving the door inoperable.  This happened in December meaning we'd have to park our cars outside until it was fixed, a thought I was not looking forward to.  Since I never had to repair a garage door before, I turned to AngiesList and saw the positive ratings for Kohler Overhead Door. 

We called Kohler early the morning and had our door fixed by lunch time!  Mark Kohler came out and was one of the nicest repairman we have ever had work on our house.  Not only did he do a good job fixing the broken springs, but he was courteous and explained what was needed to be done.  He also gave us tips on things we can do to help maintain the performance of the garage door.

Overall, it was an excellent experience -- definitely worth an "A" grade.

First searched the Better Business Bureau for potential repair companies.

The first, a dealer rep for our garage door opener, refused to supply info to the BBB. Scratch this one off the list.

The second, the company who installed the door, is BBB approved, big, and has multiple locations --- a business with a lot of overhead. I feared a big bill from a large impersonal company.

The third was Kohler Overhead Door from Angie's List.

Mr Kohler is the owner and the worker. He answered my call immediately. He arrived when he said he would arrive. He also advised changing the spring that had not yet broken. When the first spring breaks, he says, the second one has very little life left. In his opinion it's better to do the job right the first time. Avoid the second service call which is inevitable. He offered the reason why this spring failed after only six years. Our main entry to the house is thru the garage, and the door gets used much more than average. He had the parts on his truck. The repair was completed quickly. Before leaving he lubricated all the moving parts and gave me some tips on routine lubrication and on how to prevent the door from freezing to the floor in winter.

I believe his price was fair. And I am totally satisfied.

I recommend him and I will call him for the next repair on my garage door.

Responded on a Saturday when our overhead door failed; did an 'interim fix' .... returned the next Saturday to replace main springs on both doors; found another problem (frayed cable that I had noticed before but not fixed) which repaired at a minimal, reasonable charge ($30)...came first time quickly (caught him at lunch on his cell phone); then arrived a bit late on second time, but called to alert me that he had an emergency and was running late; made sure that was okay. In all, this was as positive experience as you could have spending $480. No attempt at upselling...noted problem pending with the second opener, but said that my son in law could handle it.

The first was to see if the original door opener could be fixed. Mark responded on the day and time he had told us, a Thursday. He checked out the system and explained age and condition of the unit and apologized that he couldn't fix it. I had thought as much myself. He did not try to hard sell a new unit. I asked about what could be done. He was very fair in pricing and explaining what we needed. Again he apologized because he couldn't promise to get to it until Tuesday morning, considering when I had called I thought this more than fair. Mark was back Tuesday morning with all the parts needed. He was finished with the job quickly and cleaned up very well when he finished. The price was exactly what was quoted. We're very pleased.
