KINGMAN CUSTOM CONTRACTORS INC

It was horrible. Kingman was very nice. We had great confidence. The process took longer than anticipated with permits, which ran our job into his summer jobs. We took a back burner and the quality of work reflected it. We had to constantly contact him to see where things were at. There were multiple foreman (at least four throughout the process). He got into a financial situation with the first plumber, which placed us in an uncomfortable position because we were brought into the middle of it. In addition, the second plumber (who ran plumbing to the mother-in-law suite) destroyed our yard and didn't follow code. The result of his not following code was that the piping burst within a year of the job. Now we sit with a basement that is not fixed, waiting on our insurance company and having to consider legal action. We have made multiple calls to Kingman in an effort to get him to fix the problem, but to no avail.

They did the work in a very short time with little fuss.

During the tear-off it starts to rain, so they stop work and cover the roof with a tarp. Incredibly, they used an old tarp that had holes and rips in it. Water came in along the entire north side of the building. I managed to catch about 12 gallons of it in pans. I called them in the middle of the night and they came out immediately, but could not do anything. The next day they show up with a new tarp and resume the tear-off. It starts to rain again so they put on the new tarp. Again, water comes in the building, but at a slower rate than before. After completion, it rains on the new roof and it leaks around the chimney. I call them about it and they come out and put more caulk around the chimney. Bottom line is it wasn't flashed properly, and the chimney still has large voids in the mortar, esp. around the flue. So I hire someone else to fix it. He said it was one of the worst flashings he has ever seen. They didn't fill in around the flue.
