His turn around time was fast, the wood matched our banister and railing, installation was fast.

Best money spent.  Originally I had purchased some gates from KidCo, and they were awful.  Flimsy wood, small plastic pieces - overall did not feel safe.  Gatekeepers' gates are SOLID.  My kid can pull and pound on them and I'm not worried about him falling down the stairs.  Fast response time, professional install and they look beautiful.  So happy we invested this money rather than risked using a one-size-fits-all approach.  Would refer to anyone who needs a baby gate.

I live in a raised ranch home built in the 1950s with a wide staircase up to the main living area. In the past when we've had young children in the home, it has been a real headache to try to secure the stair area. Plastic gates just didn't fit and were too flimsy. I have considered having a carpenter build a gate, but never came up with a good plan. So, last fall, I had a deck built onto the house and was talking to the architect about this problem. He had just been in a house with a Gatekeepers gate and said it was beautiful and would probably work in this setting. I called Tom of Gatekeepers and he came, measured, and built a beautiful custom maple gate for the top of the stairs. It is wonderful! I was so happy to learn it was fully removable, just slips out of the wood railing, but I have not removed it at all as it blends in so well with the woodwork of the house. Looks like it was built into the house. I am thrilled. This has been great for my granddaughter, keeps my dog upstairs if I desire it when people come to the door, and when we have had someone here in a wheelchair, I am totally comfortable with them wheeling around. I can't say enough how pleased I am with the gate--it is more like a piece of furniture.

The gate has a very easy to use latch, but also has a and quot;decoy knoband quot; to keep two-year-olds occupied (and a number of grad student guests I've had). I love it! The actual mechanism is extremely simple to open and to close, but the decoy has the effect of keeping little ones occupied instead of opening the gate.

So, when the deck was finished, I called Tom again to put in a cedar gate for the deck (the deck has aluminum railings so did not include a gate in the original deck plan). Again, I am totally pleased. Both gates were hung beautifully and it is obvious Tom takes great care in the work and product. I can't recommend this enough! It has so simplified my life and made my home more beautiful--something I never would have expected from a gate.

We had a bungee corded gate at this spot to keep our gate up because the area could not fit a regualr gate. I thought about calling a carpenter to try to build something in the area because it is at the entrance of our home...way too expensive. I stumbled upon Gatekeepers at the American Family Children's Hospital's Kohl Safety Center and gave them a call. I love the gate and it was a great investment. The final intalled gate is a little off square, but I hope I will be the only person to notice...overall good expereince. The crew was easy to contact, returned calls quickly and came ON TIME. They were friendly and also kind to my kids and my dog. Can't ask for more.
