Jay's work was beyond our expectations. You always figure something will be off. NOTHING was with Arrow and Jay. He was on time, on task and did an excellent job. If you don't hire arrow, you're wasting your money.

We were very happy with Arrow Floor Sanding. Our floors were in rough shape and the improvement was dramatic. They did the job quickly and professionally and at a reasonable price. I would hire them again.

Jay removed carpeting from the living room, hallway and two bedrooms and then transformed dark, discolored hardwood floors into absolutely stunning flooring. The floors are lighter and the woodgrain shows so well now. In addition, some boards had shrunk slightly, so he carefully filled in the gaps to make the floors look seamless. He did an amazing job at a reasonable price. I wish there were more conscientious and talented craftsmen like Jay.

Very well. Jay from Arrow was pleasant to deal with and very responsive, even though he is clearly quite busy. Jay was very accommodating in working with our schedule, got the work started on time, and got it done faster than planned in order to get our house back to use a day earlier. I was very happy with the results, even though my floors are almost 100 years old and were in pretty rough shape. I look forward to having Jay help us with future projects and would highly recommend him.

Jay ended up getting me in earlier than planned and did a great job. The price was very reasonable and I would hire him again!

This turned out to be probably the most expensive job that I could have done once I get everything fixed. I like Jay so I hestitated to write this review... but if you're making a decision about this type of home improvement I would say look elsewhere -- unless you have an older home and updating the floors... even if not just right -- will work for you. Be sure to protect your appliances, etc. though because Jay won't.

Jay was amazing.  Easy to reach out to, timely in providing updates when asked and very professional.  We were nervous about getting our floors done, but Jay made it painless, quick and thorough from beginning to ending.  The floors look amazing.  Nice work Jay!!

We got three estimates to refinish the maple floors in our 100 year-old house. Jay's came in the lowest and he seemed the most knowledgable. He advised us to not stain our old maple floors as they don't take stain very well (something that we didn't know and no other company mentioned!). His quote was also the only one that included 3 coats of oil-based poly rather than the 2 quoted to us by the other vendors. We opted for the semi-gloss and they are gorgeous! Jay worked miracles on these worn floors and now they are a highpoint of the house. He also finished a few days ahead of schedule! We couldn't be happier and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jay to family and friends.

Jay came over within a day or two of my initial call to him.  He took measurements, provided insight, and gave me an estimate onsite.  I had obtained two other estimates and Jay's came in the lowest.  He had also shown me some of his work at a house he had just completed.  I was impressed, so I hired him.  I talked to him a couple of weeks later about colors; he voluntarily returned to sand a section of the floor and lay down some test colors.  I ended up settling with a dark stain (Bona midnight mahogany, which is a blend).
The floors turned out beautifully.  My floors are red oak hardwood, originally installed in the early 1900s (main house) and also in the mid-1900s (addition to the house).  In the main house, the floors were in good shape and had never been sanded before.  The floor in the addition had substantial damage, probably caused by dog urine.  Jay predicted that his sanding and my choice of dark stain would remedy the damage.  He was right.  He also pushed for an oil-based stain and satin polyurethane; the latter of which can be tinted with stain to even out any inevitable non-uniform absorption of stain by the wood.  Again, he was right.  I had seen the daily progress and saw quite a transformation during the week he completed the work.  I am really happy with how everything turned out.
Prior to Jay starting the job, I had removed the carpet, pad, staples, and tack strips.  I also removed all interior doors.  I didn't remove any of the shoe molding; I decided that I preferred to sand and paint them after Jay finished up instead of removing and replacing the shoe molding (which is stubbornly attached to my baseboards).  My house was unoccupied at the time.
Overall, I'm very satisfied.  I have no hesitation whatsoever recommending him.  He was extremely prompt, responsive, insightful, professional, and friendly.

Jay did an outstanding job. He was prompt and responsive. He was able to get the job done much sooner than other companies had told us and he was quite a bit cheaper. The floors look great. We couldn't be happier. I would definitely use Jay again.

From start to finish all I can say is how impressed we were with Jay. To begin, he was always on time or slightly early for all of our appointments. He gave us an estimate and wrote it up all in the same day. He was professional, thorough, and most important of all his work was fantastic. I had called and received estimates from 3 other places that were also highly recommended. However, Jay had the best estimate by a far margin and another person I knew had also recommended him as well. After comparing all of the reviews on Angie's list we chose Jay and Arrow Floor Sanding and boy were we glad we did. Our floors turned out amazing. Jay helped select the right stain and finish for our floor to make our house look brand new. Finally, we had some small damage to our floors from a previous owner that choose to try to refinish on their own. I was sure no one would be able to fix their spots, and even the other estimators had said that it would not be possible. Jay fixed the spots and our floors look new. We would definitely recommend him to all of our family and friends and will be sure to call him first should we need our floors done again in the future.

Jay was very prompt, responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. He was referred to us by a good friend, that coupled with his great first impression made it easy to trust his work ethic and character. Jay offered options and suggestions for repair. He was very matter-of-fact and down to business.
He sanded decades old wax and schellac off the fir floor in the bedroom and closet, then sealed it with clear polyurethane. He sanded and sealed a hallway/landing floor as well. Jay started on a Friday and was done in 3 days.
We plan on having Jay back to do the living room and front hallway floor in the near future. We would highly recommend Jay to anyone with hardwood refinishing needs.

Every step of the way Jay was responsive. He returned my inquiry call immediately, came out and did an accurate written estimate, and started the job right on time (even while I was out of town). He worked through the weekend to make sure the floors would be ready in time for the painters etc so we could move in when we needed to.
Jay patched the floors, sanded them, sealed the wood and applied 3 coats of Bona Satin Polyurethane. The floors are beautiful!
He hung plastic to minimize dust in the kitchen and completely cleaned the site up during and when he finished. He even shoveled a path to the door so he wouldn't track snow in. He uses quality products that hardly smelled and he was sensitive to keeping the ventilation fans running to facilitate air exchange as the floors dried.
Jay is a professional who works quickly, stays in touch about the job, and leaves you with beautiful floors.

Estimate- Provided a price per square foot over the phone. Arrow floor sanding was the only company who could meet our time frame- refinishing before we moved in to our new home, in about 2 weeks. Once we had agreed to hire, Jay came out, arrived on time, took measurements, and discussed stains and finishes. He was very helpful.
The Job-Arrived two days early, completed job within our time frame. The floors look absolutely beautiful.

Recently purchased home. Wood floors are original to home built in 1964. Wanted to have floors sanded to have a consistent look across all floors and have and quot;high trafficand quot; areas re-done to look the same as other areas of floors. Called many companies to look at project, get opinions and proposals on job. Jay was very direct, upfront and knowledgeable. He offered options and very fair pricing compared to other companies. He started job exactly when he promised and was on-time every day he worked on my home.

I have used Jay twice. He does an outstanding job. No frilly stuff, just gets in and gets the job done. I went with a satin polyurethane finish and I am very happy with how the floors look two years after treatment. There was not a huge amount of dust residue, which is good because I have wood floors throughout and had the entire house done. My realtor gave me his name, so I had a lot of confidence in him if he is someone that realtors rely on.
