Jim was great to work with, gave me a much better price than the other bids I had gotten from other local companies and came in right on that price. He was very professional and knowledgeable about my table and even explained not to use the brush provided by the table manufacturer to clean the table but to use a vacuum to pull the chalk from beneath the cloth and leave nothing under the rails. It was a great experience.

We contacted Jim by phone after finding Quality Table Service on Angie's list. We left a message and Jim returned the call in about 2 hours. We discussed the job that we needed, the material costs and labor. Jim was easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable. His price estimate was less than another local business we received a quote from, even with better quality fabric and changing our bumper colors.
About a week later we called Jim back to schedule the work. Jim was able to order the felt and we coordinated dropping off the bumpers with Jim so that he could get that fabric replaced to reduce the install time. Jim was scheduled to perform the install but there was a snowstorm that day. Jim called right away to make sure we could reschedule the install date. Jim came the day after the storm and had the pool table all set up in around 2 hours and change. After the install Jim answered any questions we had regarding the care and maintenance of pool table. We were very satisfied with the responsive communication, price, and quality of the work.

James is a true professional at his craft. He worked quickly and carefully and made sure every detail was perfect. He set up the frame and leveled it. Then he set the slates in and spent a long time shimming each piece to make sure they were level on all sides and that there was zero difference from one slate to the next. He was very fun and had all sorts of fun stories about Madison history of pool.

I looked for other quotes to do this work and James was about half price. From talking to him I realized that other places in Madison might send out less experienced people to do the work. If you hire James he's the one you'll get.

I had reserved myself to set my table up until I found James and thought his price was so reasonable I'd prefer to have the table set up correctly (flatness, level, felt wrapped and stretched correctly).

I'd highly recommend anyone with a table to set up call James.
