"Unfortunately, basically everything this customer is saying is not true. Firstly, the company he hired after us couldn't possibly be “reputable,” as they blatantly disregarded EPA regulations for filling up a leaking Freon (R-22) refrigerant system, which the customer even admitted to us afterwards. I even personally told him in the office the previous day when he made the service appointment that we are unable to refill Freon systems in a meaningful way since all of the regulations have come out on it. Freon has also been banned from production as of the first of 2020. He still wanted the service appointment anyways. Secondly, our technician did “properly and accurately” diagnose his problem with his air conditioner, and was there for an hour doing so, based on the service van’s GPS, and without any additional labor charges as all he was charged for was the service call fee for $89 + tax. The problem was the system was low on Freon refrigerant by about 40%, which is not *legally* repairable as mentioned above. The reason the technician quoted a furnace as well as an A/C to be installed was because what he has there is poorly installed and not up to code. The code violations should have been caught by the city inspector at the time of the installation. But again, he had an unreputable company install his equipment and no permits were pulled to do so, as no permits have been pulled for anything on this house since it was built in 1956. I have no problems admitting we did not repair his system, as we are unwilling to put our licenses and certifications on the line just because the customer wanted an illegal repair."

"Unfortunately this customer is not being honest with what she has mentioned. The new part that was damaged was NOT damaged by our technician, but was damaged due to wires that were arcing in the customers electrical panel. Even though service parts are only warranted against manufacturing defects, we still offered to replace the part at no charge, along with repairing the wiring and charging only for a different part that was also found to be damaged. Problems like this occur when customers try to save a few dollars and have furnaces installed without permits being issued and using unqualified installers. After the customer was made aware that it was apparent more damage has occurred, she was offered a credit of all charges towards a new furnace. The customer agreed to purchasing a new furnace, and we even tried to help her by rescheduling a different customer to accommodate her schedule. The day prior to the installation, she cancelled the installation and said she would call back to reschedule but this never happened. A few weeks later, she called back and mentioned she found a furnace cheaper and wanted all her money back even though we provided temporary heat. We asked what brand of furnace she was looking at but she was unwilling to share any information with our office about the other quote. In regards to her mentioning of abrasive comments we only said to make sure she was comparing the same model furnace and to verify permits are issued when comparing quotes. This customer also tried reversing charges made to her credit card after she approved the work order prior to any work being performed. The credit card company allowed the charges once we provided them information that showed this customer was made aware of the problems and signed our technicians work order. It is unfortunate this customer was dishonest with her comments because we made every effort to make this customer satisfied. On a final note, this service call occurred over two months ago and its apparent this customer chose to have another furnace installed with no permits since none have been issued as of 3/28/2018."
