This is by far the worst contractor I have ever dealt with and I have dealt with a few. The job was quoted to start on June 6, but the guys did not show up until 6/7. No problem, we were home to let them in. The guys were here for about 4 hours when Dave brought to my attention that they did not foresee having enough l-brackets to finish up the job. I offered to get the pieces, but realized that they would not fit in my trunk. Regardless, he stated that he would pick them up, but would need to come back on Tuesday. I was OK with that since it was only a few days away. Well, on 6/9, there was no-call and no-show. I tracked him down on Wednesday 6/10 and he told me "I never committed to coming on Tuesday" and that I should have called him to confirm. This was untrue becuase my wife was also standing there and heard his committment. He then told me that he was having a rough week and that he had no intention of coming out to our place to finish the job this week. He stated that " It's sunny out and I have roofing to do and you guys are really out of the way, besides I'm not making any money on this deal." I told him at this point to simply round up his stuff and I'd hire someone else, becuase I was tired of his unprofessional attitude. He then got very vocal and stated "You aint keepin my f**kin money. I'm 7/8 done and you're not giving me the opportunity to finish." Well, we gave him a final chance to get this done on 6/17, and wouldn't you imagine he was supposed to be here at 11:00am, but did not get here until almost 2:00pm, and to top it off, he ran out of materials AGAIN. You can just imagine the colors of red we are turning, because based on the fact that just half an hour earlier he said "We'll be done here in an hour of so." We paid him the final balance because he told us he'd be finished. Since that day, he has not been back and has done nothing but make excuses on why he can't be out here to FINISH the job he started. My wife called him today, he took a major tone, raised his voice and stated "I don't want to work for you kinda people." Evidently he will take and cash our checks though. This is CONTRACTOR FRAUD. We contacted the police for direction and filed a report via the BBB. We have had to hire another contractor to finish the work, and our new contractor has recommended taking the whole ceiling down due to poor workmanship. It's off-level, cross-bars are uneven and the ceiling slumps in the middle. He did not honor his obligation.
Description of Work: The job as was written in a formal quote was to install an acoustical ceiling. All materials/labor included in price. Mr. Federici was in the home at time of measurement. By SERVICE COMPLETED uptop, he QUIT, the job is NOT done.
