Mad City Remodeling

The deck boards and the railings on our two story deck were in poor shape and needed to be replaced.  We had Mad City Home Improvements do the work.  We discussed the job prior to start and also determined that we would have to install a new stair system to code.  The work was done to our satisfaction.  There was a problem with some aluminum covering the facia boards on the deck caused by the deck being slightly raised in several areas, and when I discussed the problem with Ron the owner, he covered the area with PVC boards which took care of the problem.  Any small problems that I noticed were taken care of without any hassle.

To make a long story short. They resided the shed and designed a new door. The design of the door is not professional and is poorly done. He cut a piece to cover the wood frame and did such a sloppy job you can see at least 1/2 inch of wood at the bottom. When I told him about it he came out and put on weather stripping on the inside of the door. This isn't at all what I asked him to fix. He then complained he has made to many trips out here. The first day he started he was only here for 2 hours and left. Came back the next day for about 3 hours. He should plan his work schedule better so he doesn't have to make so many trips. Since I emailed him about the strip that covers the wood and that I wanted it replaced, he became insulting and rude. He said he would never be able to make me happy and will not respond to emails as to whether he will fix it or not. My only choice now is to have someone replace the badly cut strip and take him to court for the cost of the repairs.

Excellent quality work. Really matched the rest of the home perfectly. A little tough to get in touch with them about details. Very flexible and pleasant. Had good ideas during the design phase which we hadn't thought about. Also, did a very nice job especially finishing a wall to be a good surface for our projection TV. The job did get pushed back a few weeks (due to bad weather delaying their current job) and they we had to initiate all communication regarding the delay, however, we got a discount for having an indoor job during winter months which helped.
