We never had hired them for snow clearing, because we never needed a snow clearing service ... until circumstances for us made this necessary. I emailed my rep to see if they would provide this service, and they refused, saying we were "too far north." I thanked them, then called my neighbor to find out who the neighbor hired. Sure enough, it was La Rosa! So I called back and said, Hi, I just found out you clear my neighbor's driveway... why can't you clear mine? And they basically said no, we don't want to take on new clients in this service. New clients!? We had spent over ten grand with them?and we had lots more work still to do?but they apparently have the luxury of turning people away whenever they want. So we took our business somewhere else. All of it.
Even before we managed to hire them, they took MONTHS to respond to our original request (we had all but forgotten that we had reached out to them for services). But we ultimately did hire them.
Bottom line: You see La Rosa Landscaping trucks all over the fancy lawns of Mequon. Which means, they don't need your business (unless you're in one of those giant mansions, too), and they act like it. Smaller jobs get the snub.
I'm no electrician, but when they say it's a working line it should work.
La Rosa recommended we install an elaborate drainage system under the concrete before it was pored. The recommendation consisted of a number of PVC pipes and drains installed in the concrete that would connect to a PVC pipe running across the yard approximately 50 feet. That system installed was to cost $2234.86.
Before the work was done, La Rosa changed their recommendation and did away with the elaborate drainage system under the patio and decided that a single PVC pipe going the 50 feet and connected to a downspout was all that was needed. They used a machine to dig the trench and lay the pipe. Took about 4-5 hours. Several pipe and concrete drains were eliminated from the design.
I made the mistake of not getting an updated quote for the revised design before the work was done. I fully expected new price to be at most about half of the $2234.86. Instead La Rosa took approximately $200 off the bill. Much of the original design was eliminated in the revised plan and the bill was reduced by about 9 or 10%.
Great quality but get everything in writing!
