We hired Flagstone to extend a lannon stone wall he was building on our neighbor's property. Our neighbor was only building the wall along his south edge and was not going to "make the turn" to extend along the east line of his property adjacent to our driveway. We paid Flagstone and our neighbor to have Flagstone extend parallel to our driveway, on my neighbor's property. We didn't realize it at the time, but Flagstone cut corners putting up this short east wall...it started to shift and move after just a few years. The south wall he did for my neighbor is still standing, but the east wall he did for us collapsed over the weekend and it is clear that virtually no stone fill was used at all. The two walls are in identical conditions and the same height. It appears for that this add on job, flagstone' screw just couldn't be bothered to go get another load of back fill stone at just $50 a pile. I contacted the owner of Flagstone last summer about some sort of warranty work, which he declined to,provide. He also provided a written estimate to repair that cost double the original construction cost (even though he could use all the old stone). Like I said, the wall started to fail almost immediately and collapsed this weekend, just a few years after construction. Meanwhile, a lannon stone wall we had installed on the otherwise of our driveway, years before, still stands rock,solid.
