Things turned-out just fine. He is dependable and prompt; he is just very good.

There are always surprises when making home repairs. My window had to be adapted to accommodate the AC size and we had to find the circuit for the proper outlet Dick had the supplies he needed to get the job done and made additional adjustments so that I can take out the unit in the winter. The cut-to-order shades were a little narrow and he knew how to adjust the brackets so that they would work. One would think that replacing light bulbs would be at anyone's level of expertise but Dick reminded me that it is best to replace all of the light bulbs so that I don't have to do it again when an older bulb burns out. I would not have thought of that. The remote thermometer needed to be integrated with the inside one and Dick knew just how to do that. The table lamp is old and I didn't know if it could be repaired. I like its construction and was disappointed when it fell apart. Dick knew just how to fix it. I have called on Dick's Fix It for 4 years--both on my current house and the previous one. His problem-solving skills and expertise always amaze me and I know that I can rely on him to resolve anything that he encounters. Dick is courteous, professional, and a partner in servicing one's home. If you want a handyman who will go beyond the expected and do an excellent job for you call Dick's Fix It.

Arrived right on time, I had pre-purchased components per Dick's instructions. I showed him what was needed, than went about my business. Finished in a timely manner without bother.

The work was done well, and the stairs look and feel better and more secure than before he started. He also cleaned up the site well (which has unfortunately made me feel like I have to clean up the rest of the basement now!).

He finished my entire list of repairs in just under four hours. He worked expediently and diligently and did not leave any messes behind. He was correct that our window still leaks some, but less than it did before. I plan to have Dick come back to my house to work on my window again in the spring, and at this time I will also have another list of smaller items for him to fix/repair around my house.

It went great. I have used him for other things in the past and he has always been responsive, so I called and told him that the pump was acting up and he came out to look at it the next day. His personality I great and he is extremely professional.

We are happy with the quality of the work, although the door was just installed two days ago. Mr. Wilde may also be correct that I did not hear him say that his billable time included his travel time, door-to-door. In the future, I will be more careful in dealing with any contractor, to be more cognizant of the basis for charges, and also do more to come up with repair tasks, if necessary, to fill up the time billed.

All went great! Couldn't ask for any better! Professional work at a fair price with no problems and completed faster and better than expected. He provided a very prompt response and a free estimate of the scope of work (including explanation of apparent problems) as well as potential options and fair/accurate estimate of the costs involved. Dick was able to schedule our work within the week, called the day prior to confirm, and arrived on time. He was very organized and prepared in the way that he approached the work and quickly identified and resolved minor problems with removal and replacement of the old kitchen plumbing components. Was careful in keeping the work area clean and also cleaned up well after the work (cleaner than it was before!). He explained everything that he did and ensured that everything worked right and that it was done to our satisfaction. He's a very personable guy, takes pride in his work and leaves no question in my mind that the work is done right and at a fair cost.

Dick scheduled a work day promptly after I called, as I wanted these projects done before Christmas. He was a little late and called ahead to let me know. My house is old and each project offers surprises and challenges in finding replacement materials and often takes longer than expected. Dick is outstanding and creative at problem solving. His attention to detail and aesthetics makes for satisfying outcomes on each project. I had ideas for the shelving but Dick's suggestions made for a much nicer look of the finished project. There were several small jobs that I added on and he resolved them all. I have used Dick's Fix It several times and am always fully satisfied. I don't know how his prices compare to other handymen, but to me, the outcome is always beyond my expectation. He is a master at his work as well as very pleasant to have working in one's home. I am very grateful to Angie's List for letting me know about Dick's Fix It. I doubt that I would have found it otherwise.

Dick was on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. His work is excellent and he obviously cares about his clients' satisfaction. He made additional recommendations for things I could do myself which was greatly appreciated. I plan to hire him again.

I must add to all of the other members who have written about the outstanding service that Dick offers. He was on time or called to let me know. He shopped at hardware stores for parts that I requested. He went far beyond just fixing things in my 1949 home. He was creative and eager to resolve problems. He is very pleasant to work with and seems to enjoy the challenge of surprises that Handyman work offers. He doesn't give estimates and I can see why. I was constantly finding new things that needed addressing that he was willing to look into. Home repair jobs are often more complicated than expected. At $40 and hour he certainly earned his fee at my house. His first house call was an emergency as my daughter was being married, and 3 days before a lot of company was coming to my house I discovered that the powder room door would not close after new carpet laying. He came on short notice and had it working quickly. My gratitude is beyond words.

Dick was very responsive to my request and gave me several options. We ended with a solution that required some creativity by removing baseboards in another part of the house to make the corner connections for the three doorways that enter the kitchen. Dick told me where to go to try and get a baseboard that was close to my originals and he then stained those to complete the job in both rooms. Dick did a nice job with what he had to work with. Just a note, because he is so busy he doesn't check e-mail every day. Calling him works better. Also, the first job is on a cash basis when complete; he'll take a check for future jobs. I would definitely call him again for future needs.

DICK IS SIMPLY THE BEST! HE IS PROMPT, KNOWLEDGEABLE, GOOD NATURED, NEAT, PROFESSIONAL AND HAS A CAN-DO ATTITUDE. HE IS VERY ORGANIZED AND ASKED THAT I E-MAIL A LIST OF ALL THE JOBS I WANTED HIM TO DO THAT WAY HIS TRUCK IS STOCKED WITH ALL THE TOOLS HE MIGHT NEED. LUCKILY, I LIVE CLOSE TO A MENARDS AND HOME DEPOT, SO HE COULD QUICKLY RUN OUT FOR ANYTHING HE NEEDED. HE EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS GOING TO DO AND NEVER TALKED DOWN TO ME ABOUT THE WORK HE DID.

EVERYTHING WAS TOP-NOTCH. THEY CHARGE $40 AN HOUR. THEY CERTAINLY LIVE UP TO THEIR EXPECTATIONS. I THANK HIM AND ANGIES LIST FOR THE EXPERIENCE.

HE WAS GREAT! HE WALKED IN THE DOOR AND WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED IN A SERVICE PERSON. HE WAS VERY NICE, PERSONABLE, AND DID A GREAT JOB.
