Heating and Air Conditioning Service
The following review was written by my son, who hired these guys to perform work at his house:
I bought a coupon for an a/c tuneup from these guys on jsonline dealwatch for $50. I made an appointment for 4pm. Nobody had showed by 4:45, so I called. Nobody answered. I left a message, and nobody called back until noon the next day. Sorry, the guy was on another job, blah blah blah. Made an appointment for 5:15 the next day. I get home just prior to this, and I have two voicemails: one at 4 saying ?I?m here, where are you,? and another at 5 saying, ?You?re not here, I?m leaving.? Called headquarters again, and they?re sorry again, and they?ll make sure he shows up at the right time next time. Made another appointment for 5:15.
He shows up at 7. He looks like he?s been to h*** and back, dirty, tired, and staggering around, knocking things over in the yard and stepping right on my sump pump hose on the back patio. He complains that he?s been working all day and isn?t happy to be here.
Great thing to tell a customer.
He does his tuneup and leaves, noting that the contactor switch contacts are pitted. The NEXT TIME I fire up the a/c, the outside unit doesn?t turn on. I took the back off to see what was going on, and the contactor switch wasn?t firing. If you wiggled the wires to it, it would fire and release. So I believe as he was doing his poking around that he pulled too h****** a wire and broke a connection. This is NOT a symptom of pitted contacts! Called back to complain and she said someone would call me about it. Nobody did. Called again, left a message, and never got called back. Called again, and she said she?d have the technician call me. He calls, I tell him the problem, and he says, ?Yeah, I told you that switch was going bad; it will be $150 for a new one!? I told him no, it?s not firing,
which isn?t related to the contacts, and I get the runaround. He says he?ll stop over after work one day and look at it. I said fine, just give me a call before you come. I get home, and there?s a voicemail on the home phone that he?s here and I?m not, so he left. Didn?t call me at work or on the cell! Called headquarters again, and she said he?ll be there one day at 5:30, no excuses. Nobody showed up. Called back to complain, and was told I?m sorry. Then Saturday the guy shows up in his personal vehicle, unannounced. Looks it over and tries to tell me it?s some other switch, which doesn?t make sense. Calls his boss, jumpers this switch out of the circuit, and it still doesn?t work, which I told him it wouldn?t! Then puts me on the phone with the boss, who tells me to get ahead of the game I should buy a new unit!
He leaves. I call headquarters a couple days later, speak to the boss, and ask if he?s going to put my a/c back in working order the way it was before his guy put his hands on it. He says he?ll talk to the technician and give me a call back with a decision. No call. I can?t say I was too high on these guys touching my unit again anyway, so I bought the part for $35 and put it in myself. I don?t know how these guys stay in business acting this way.
I did submit a complaint through the BBB. He responded by getting my last name wrong, as well as claiming several things that were outright lies, including that the date of service was in June, that they told me their appointment times were two hour time windows, and that I was never home at the scheduled appointment times. He then said his tech was working long days, so that's why he was so beat when he showed up. Despite this, he claimed his guy couldn't have caused my system not to start. He then went on about how he wasn't going to be responsible for anything since I had gone into the system myself and fixed it (which I pointed out was only after their failure to respond to me).
I would advise anyone to steer clear of this business.
