They were excellent. They were just terrific. I have recommended them. They were wonderful.

It went very well. The work was done in the summer of 2018 and I waited until October, 2018 to review after first few fires were were burned in the fireplace. The chimney draws well, and I am very satisfied.

Kurt, the Owner worked with me on my Father's home. He provided a resolution that none of the other five Contractors who gave me estimates could. The resolution fit my needs, budget and made the home energy efficient. His team was extremely professional AND worked in downpouring rain! In addition they worked with me on my time constraint that I had. You don't find many Contractors like Kurt and his Team that have the integrity and work ethic like they have. I would highly recommend them and am grateful they were put in my path!

Installation went very well. From the start, contractor was polite, concise and offered to do installation as originally requested. Due to the unique design of the fireplace stone mantel, suggestions were made to minimize disruptive stonework and maintain the original aesthetics.

I do not typically write reviews, but Kurt far exceeded my expectations. I called Kurt to inspect the fireplace and chimney on a property that I am purchasing and Kurt was able to determine that the height of the flue pipe did not meet code; he also spent quite a bit of time after he gave me the initial report researching the fireplace model in order to provide me with proof of the non-compliance that the sellers were requesting. I would definitely hire Smoke Stacks again and will be using them for maintenance in the future.

From the very first point of contact, we were treated with professionalism, friendliness, and exceedingly prompt and knowledgeable responses. Kurt went out of his way to ensure we were making the right decisions for long-term solutions, done correctly. His estimate was extremely competitive, and when priced against two other area service providers, his estimate included a multitude things the other two did not! Essentially, we were going to be left with an entirely brand new chimney, and working wood-burning fireplace that will never have water issues inside or out, and would give us peace of mind for as long as we are in the home, versus a series of pieced-together patch repairs that didn't include a re-build whatsoever from the other two competing quotes. It was no contest. Smoke Stacks went above and beyond, provided a number of brick samples from area quarries to compare against the aged stone work on the outside of our home, and found something that works seamlessly to match but not stand out like a new repair. Really couldn't be happier with the craftsmanship, and trustworthiness of this company and its owner. I highly recommend Smoke Stacks and regularly rave about the work we had done by this company. I wish we had more work for them at our home! It was such a pleasure working with them.

Just as before (also used last year for annual inspection), Kurt was on time, professional and pleasure to talk with. I have used others in the past but never felt this confident in a contractor visiting our home. Clearly he knows this profession. Equally important, he is honest. Again, someone you can trust. Good guy too. Highly recommend him to anyone needing an inspection or other work related to fireplaces.

Overall: Very Satisfied Kurt responded with a call from my email inquiry very quickly. We were able to book something for the following week. Throughout the cleaning Kurt was extremely professional with his work and respectful in my home, making sure to set up tarps and keeping the house clean. After cleaning he was able to show me pictures of how the chimney looks, and kindly caulked some gaps that were up there. He was also very helpful with answering my questions with the Air Intake vent for the fireplace. I was able to learn a lot about how my chimney / fireplace works and as a first time homebuyer, I appreciated the information. Very happy with the quality and thoroughness of his work done and will definitely use Smoke Stacks again in the future.

Kurt and his team were EXTREMELY professional. They shook my hand, got to work, and they were very clean. They cleaned up, which is something that few contractors do anymore. They respected our property, followed-up, and even took on a side project that we were having difficulty finding a good contractor to do. They are fast and professional, which is what you want from a contractor.

Kurt answered my call very quickly and within a few days he arrived to give me an estimate of repairs. We decided to go ahead with repairs three months later. Kurt and his crew began repair at the estimated cost within one week of my call. The work was done very efficiently in two and one half days. Kurtz's crew was very clean and all trash and removed stone and cement was removed daily. The final product looks great. Kurt and his crew were very professional in all matters. The cost of repairs was reasonable.

Kurt Soens was very responsive and stopped by a few days after I first called him and he was up on my roof inspecting the problem.  He focused on the problem we had and a few minor improvements - unlike another competitor who seemed more interested in significantly "up selling" us on other products & services.  The only delay in the start of the job was a few days for the right parts to come in, and he was back and made the required repairs within 10 days from my initial phone call.  Kurt's approach with website review of your job and "electronic" acceptance is innovative and time-saving.  Kurt struck me as a "straight shooter" who is focused on customer satisfaction and the job at hand.  I highly recommend his services.

Hired to clean/inspect our chimney in our house before our first winter there. He was right on time for an early morning appointment. Cleaned and inspected the chimney quickly, then got to some bad news. Unfortunately our chimney flu is not in great shape. He honestly gave us his opinions on the situation and some ball park ideas of repair costs.
Good service, would use again.
