Quality window specialists does NOT stand behind their LIFE TIME WARRANTY. Throughout the years we had to take care of glass for 3 windows that cracked in the winter at a cost of $150 each because we could not prove how they cracked. We now have a broken hinge assembly. They claim they mailed us a replacement hinge 6 weeks ago(no tracking number) . We did not receive it. They now want us to remove the window (it is winter) and drive 32 miles each way to see if they can match up a part (note: I sent them photos) If you buy windows from them you should plan on no warranty,

"We are very sorry they feel we didn't take care of their warranty concerns. WE DID TAKE CARE OF THEIR WARRANTY CONCERNS, FOR THE WINDOWS WE INSTALLED 15 YEARS AGO. We are a small, family-owned business that has been around over 39 years. We rely on referral business. This is why we do take care of our customers and service is extremely important to us. This is a case of pinning the blame on the company that is still in business. We do return phone calls, we do reply to emails, we do answer the phone. We do take customer service very seriously. WE DID NOT COMPLETE ANY WORK ON 12--2-18 as the customer states in the Angie's List review. We installed 5 windows May 2003. We did not do any other work at this property. The first time they contacted us was for a service issue in March 2008 for 1 cracked window and we took care of this FREE OF CHARGE THROUGH THE LIFETIME WARRANTY. Regarding the 3 cracked windows that they were charged $150 each, this was NOT OUR COMPANY. The homeowner must be CONFUSING US WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY. The second time they contacted us was October 2018. We tried to help them get a replacement hinge from an emailed picture of the part only. Even though it didn't look like anything we sold them, we guessed what might work and sent them the part FREE OF CHARGE. They emailed us saying they didn't receive it. I told them it's best to bring the old part to us anyway so we can try to get the correct match (this does not require leaving the window open). Consumers should know that when we reported this review to the Angie's List representative, they said they don't require any documentation or proof to show this review on their site. The only thing they require to show this review, is to verify they are a member."

This is the 3rd time using Quality Window. Every time Jeff made us feel like family and gave us great suggestions on product and the prices are more than fair. Their installers are top notch too! Wouldn't go anywhere else.

From first contact with the company via phone, while Jeff was in our home going over the product options and pricing, when door was being installed, and other communications with their company they were professional, personable, and everything was done with high quality and punctuality.
Very respectful while in our house, detail oriented, and efficient.
Price was good (we had other companies come out and give us quotes and some were 40% higher then Q.W.)
I would HIGHLY recomend this company to anyone needing windows, doors, etc.

Our windows were 26 years old and we noticed what terrible shape they were in when we washed them this year so we decided to go ahead and just get them replaced. We had used Quality Window Specialists in the past to add a bay window and a garden window upstairs in the master bedroom. We had visited their booth at the home show yesrs ago. The windows they did then (the bay and the upstairs garden) were still perfect plus their windows have a lifetime warranty. I called thier sales rep and owner, Jeff, who promptly came out and estimated the job. He thought it would be 5-10 weeks out to install and it turned out to be about 6. It took 3 1/2 days to complete the work with rainy weather causing some delays as well as 1 of the installers having a doctor's appt, which I was told about. Communication was spot on. To make a long story short, the windows are beautiful, fit perfectly, and the inside "rich maple" color matches our interior very well. The outside of the windows is white vinyl. The casement has grids mounted in the window but the others don't. Their installers, Dan and Tim, were polite, knowledgeable, did not rush thru the job and cleaned up after themselves. We would highly recommend Quality Window Specialists. In fact, we are going to have them replace a patio door also while we're at it.

It went very well. They worked with us to order a special size door and the special decorative front entry door glass had to be ordered. Once the materials came in which took 8 wks. or so, it took about a day and a half for the job to be completed and it was done very well. New frames and jams were installed because our home is older and the wood all needed to be replaced around the doors.

We like Quality Window Specialists Inc. They re-did half of our windows, and we were so pleased, they're coming to do the other half in the Spring. They're very good to work with. When he came out initially, he quoted us on what the whole project would be and charged us half of that and said that discounted price would stay, if we committed to him by April the rest of the project. That was really nice.

I was very pleased. I was pleased with the price, and we received a couple estimates. They seemed to do a good job. We left the house and they were here alone for the day while they were working. They were very, very capable people and were honest. I would definitely recommend them. Their price was average, and I would use them again.

We used them prior to replace 18 windows several years ago. This time I was very disappointed when the owner miss measured the dinning room new casement style windows by over an inch to large. Instead of saying immediately it was his fault he was going to have the crew cut into the sill to make them fit! The crew informed me this would have compromised the woodwork on the interior of my 1924 bungalow and being they were casement the handles would have been difficult to operate. These were expensive windows with prairie glass . What made me very angry was he argued with me instead of admitting his mistake. This should never be an option when you make that big of an error in your measurements. That is not a professional install when you jerry rig something just to get it to fit. He was also rather condescending when he told me to talk to my husband that it was OK with him and he'd explain it to me. His installers were at least forthright in telling the problems that would happen doing what he wanted. They told me he even yelled at them saying they could have had it done without me even knowing it. Some of the miter corners on the other windows have gaps in them and the amount of insulation that was stuffed into the awning window gaps makes me believe they were too small for the openings. I can feel a draft from the bottoms of them. I have another window from a past installation on our sun porch I can feel a draft through. We are very disappointed with this company especially in view of the fact we had done a lot of business with them in the past. We had plans for entry doors but are going elsewhere. They need to inspect their windows and check the miter joints the company they are using are getting sloppy. They also need to live up to their name. We waited six weeks for the dinning room windows but they are in.

"I was surprised and disappointed to read the complaint from the customer, a repeat customer. I didn’t realize there was a problem. This was the first I heard about it. As a company that’s been around for more than 30 years, past customers are a vital part of our success and if this particular customer had made us aware of issues that may have existed, we would have resolved them immediately. When our installer noticed 2 windows were ½” too big in height, I was informed right away, as were the homeowners. I apologize for any inconvenience the mismeasures caused but with any job comes a small degree of human error. Consequently, I was there within the hour. I discussed with the customers what could be done: Reorder 2 new windows which would take the normal 6 to 8 weeks OR take a little from the sill and head which if done as I explained would not have to remove any casing or trim and would not effect window operation. The customers were in agreement with latter choice. The problem came into play when there was a communication break-down between our installer and myself. The installer wanted to rebuild the openings which was not needed. That made the homeowners apprehensive, to say the least. The customers then decided to go with the other option to reorder windows which was fine with us. They were ordered and installed A.S.A.P. I was honest and upfront with the customer, and I’m sorry she feels the way she does. If she would have informed us of any issues, we would have addressed them immediately. Instead we get a report from Angie’s List. Sincerely, Gary Meehan"

We were highly satisfied with them and they did a great job. We went to their showroom and they showed us the windows. One of the things that we liked about them is that they wanted different colors on the outside and inside of the windows. They had a high rating with Angieslist and they were the ones who stood out of the 3 different people we looked. They completed the job in less than a day. We then found that one of the windows had a scratch in it. They ordered a new one and came out and fixed it right in. They didn’t ask any questions and didn’t even come out to look at it. They just took my word over the phone and brought a new one and put it in. It was worth the money that we paid. They gave us the drapes for free. I am going to hire them to do the rest of the 20 windows in my house.

Although Tom and Tim did a professional installation of the windows for the most part, I was disappointed that I had to ask them to caulk the gaps on the interiors of the windows (they had suggested that we take care of it before painting the windows!) and that they left quite a bit of broken glass, chunks of insulation and small pieces of wood on the ground outside of the house. They shimmed out a piece of 1/2 inch plywood where they should have used 3/4 inch plywood (after asking me to supply them with the plywood to cover the hole where they took out a window). There were a number of other items left unfinished as well. We wrote to them with our comments, but they never responded. We were in a hurry to get the job done at the time we signed the contract, but considering the fact that we are doing the inside finish trim work and the siding around the new windows, the price was considerably higher than it should have been for what we got.

"FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THE DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK WE DID IS COMPLETELY UNDER STATED. WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED AT THE RESIDENCE, HIS WIFE TOOK ME THROUGH THE HOUSE SINCE HE WASN’T THERE IN THE BEGINNING TO SHOW ME WHAT HE WANTED DONE. SHE ONLY MENTIONED 5 BASIC REPLACEMENT WINDOWS AND 3 CUT OPENING THAT NEEDED STRUCTURAL WORK. THE WINDOWS THEY ORDERED ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE WE SELL. IF THEY WOULD HAVE CHOSEN A VINYL WINDOW IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HALF THE COST. AFTER THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED, I WENT THROUGH THE HOUSE WITH THE HUSBAND TO DOUBLE CHECK EVERYTHING. THIS IS WHEN HE TOLD ME HE WANTED US TO FILL IN 2 EXISTING WINDOW OPENINGS. I SAID I WOULDN'T CHARGE HIM EXTRA AND TO KEEP US IN MIND FOR FUTURE WORK. WE HAVE A SIGNED COMPLETION SLIP DATED 9-18-07. THE COMPLETION SLIP HAS A COMMENT SECTION THERE WERE NO COMPLAINTS. USUALLY THE HOMEOWNER WILL PAINT/STAIN AND USE WOOD PUTTY IF NEEDED. TO OUR KNOWLEDGE THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS ACCORDING TO THE COMPLETION SLIP HE SIGNED. IF THE HOMEOWNERS WOULD HAVE CALLED WE WOULD HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ANY ISSUES. THE HOLES WE HAD TO FILL ARE THE SAME ONES I NEVER CHARGED HIM FOR. BECAUSE HE NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT THEM UNTIL AFTER THE CONTRACT WAS SIGNED. THE HOMEOWNER MENTIONED HE WROTE US WITH HIS COMMENTS, WE NEVER RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THEM. THE ONLY CORRESPONDENCE WE RECEIVED ABOUT THIS WAS FROM ANGIE'S LIST. SINCERELY, QUALITY WINDOW SPECIALISTS"

I was very pleased with Todd and his professionalism. I felt he was honest and trustworthy. It is a family owned business. The Better Business Bureau has a positive review also. The installation went well. I was very pleased with the installer. He was extremely thorough and did an excellent job. The trim and everything else looks incredible. I was not at all pleased with his helper. This is the person that handed the installer tools, cleaned up, etc.... The man walked all over my house with his muddy shoes. Why didn't he wear booties? I would definitely hire them again and will when I decide to do the other windows.

Very good experience with sales and installation. Installer came back for one addition with no problem. This was also completed to my satisfaction. Windows are fine during this first winter season with no drafts or structural problems.
