While the people we dealt with in the first stages were very helpful, professional and prompt, we found the underwriters they use to be absolutely horrible. We began this process in January and here it is middle of March, with no end in sight. First the underwriters asked for a huge amount of paperwork, which is probably typical. It took us several weeks to assemble everything. As each week has gone by, they want more...then more....then more...then more.
We've had to pay extra now (almost $900 and counting) for the "privilege" of holding a rate lock. I've probably faxed or uploaded well over 100 pages of documentation for them and they keep asking for more information. They need actual signatures on everything, so this has meant having to print out these dozens of documents, scan them and then upload them. It has been so frustrating.
Another complaint is that we had one appraisal done for possible FHA but the "conventional" mortgage is requiring a different appraisal, so we have to pay for two appraisals. The appraisals are invoiced at $500 but we have to pay $670 each.

They shop me around to several things that they deal with and find the best grade that they could get, so instead of having do the work at my own, they get it done.

I heard the Accunet commercials on WKLH every day on the way to work. I finally decided to do their "mortgage check up" as advertised. You go to their website and enter some high level information about your current mortgate. They tell you they will respond in 2 business days, which they did. I had a half hour call with Bill Rieboldt and we went over the options. I qualified for one of their "no closing cost" options, which was a very nice deal. I had quite a bit of paperwork to complete. I scanned it and uploaded it to their secure site. They stayed in touch via email regularly so I always knew where I was in the refinancing process. I closed on my loan in mid-October---5 weeks after I had started the process. I met Bill and the representative from the title company for the closing at the Accunet offices. Everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend them. They gave me options, explained them thoroughly and delivered everything as promised.

I started my process by researching mortgage companies on Angie's List, and by asking a neighbor who sells insurance. Accunet came up as a positive referral from both sources. Then I went to their website, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I could enter my circumstances and obtain best rates available without giving away my name and contact info. When I called the company, I initially worked with Jerry Skertich (I am probably not remembering his last name correctly), but the bulk of the process was handled by Linda Emmer. Both Jerry and Linda were knowledgable, responsive, thorough and efficient. Given that this was done at a time when mortgage brokers were inundated with business, I was impressed with how quickly they responded to my inquiries. The entire process was handled via phone, fax, and email, until the closing. We were offered two locations for the closing, which was handled by Closing Professionals, LTD. The attorney who handled the closing (Kevin Bublitz) was also extremely pleasant and professional. We were done in about 20 minutes. We got a great rate on a 20 year mortgage. While we did pay money to secure the rate, and we paid money the day of the closing, when I put that amount ($671 total) against the interest that we were paying the day of closing, we ultimately had no closing costs. Accunet is selling our loan back to Wells Fargo, with whom we had our last loan. About a year ago, I checked into refinancing with Wells Fargo -- they were not going to give us the lowest rates available AND they were going to charge us over $1000 in closing costs. I am sooooooo glad I discovered Accunet!

Couldn't have had a better refinacing. Called all the big guns, Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America and 3 others off the net. Everyone was in the 3000.00-4500.00 for closing costs, Accunet came in at 1300.00 for closing, no pts. Rates were right along with everyone else. Talked to Jason at Accunet for a long time about closing costs. I was told that they do all the leg work and the note is sold to one of the above banks. In fact our new note is going right back to the same bank that had it before , Wells Fargo. They were at 3500.00. Saved 800.00 a month, put the note back out there for 30 yrs, but adding 200.00 extra a month takes it down to about 13 yrs and we figured we had about 7 to go. We closed in 2 WEEKS , everything was great and in order , just like they said. Would recommend these guys to everybody.

OBTAINED OUR ORIGINAL PURCHASE MORTGAGE FROM ACCUNET MAY 2001 BECAUSE THE RATE AND CLOSING COSTS WERE THE BEST AFTER AN EXTENSIVE RATE SEARCH. WE WERE SKEPTICAL BECAUSE CLOSING COSTS SEEMED TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. ALSO, WE WERE SOMEWHAT WARY OF USING AN INTERNET COMPANY. EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY. DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE COMPANY IS LOCAL, WE'VE NEVER MET ANYONE IN PERSON -- JUST BEEN TREATED PROFESSIONALLY AND PROMPTLY VIA PHONE AND EMAIL. WE HAVE SINCE REFINANCED THREE TIMES WITH THIS COMPANY, WITH EASE AND MINIMAL EFFORT, ALWAYS AT THE BEST AVAILABLE RATES. USE THE WEBSITE TO LEARN CURRENT RATES VERY EASILY. THEY CHANGE FREQUENTLY AND ARE KEPT UP-TO-DATE. WE HAVE RECOMMENDED THIS SERVICE TO FRIENDS WHO HAVE ALSO BEEN PLEASED.
