At the time of installation, Finucane Flooring finished the job. It was not work to brag about nor to complain about. When they sealed my master bath, they spilled the sealant on my bath tub. Until this day, it still has drip marks on it. We have stone tile with pores in it that they should have filled with grout. They missed quite a few of the tiles and if not filled properly will cause mold. Well within the first 2 years, the grout between two tiles in my entry way began to crack. I hired someone else to come look at it to have it fixed. It turned out that when you step on it the floor moved under your feet. As he began taking up the two tiles most of the rest of the tiles surrounding lifted with them. The tile should have been stuck to the backerboard by the mortar they used, but we ended up having to pull up every tile in my entry way. As we did so, there were nails they used to tack down the backerboard popping up under the tiles. We were able to remove every tile but 2 without breaking them. Had they been put down properly, they would have been secured to the floor by the mortar and likely broke as we tried to pry them off the floor. The backs of the tiles were clean. It was as though the mortar had dried before they put the tile down and the tile was held there by grout alone. After we screwed the backerboard down, which solved the problem of the floor moving, we replaced the tile. Now the same problem is happening in my kitchen as well. You can hear the grout cracking under you feet as you walk and you can see the tile move as you step down on it. It has been 2 and a half years since we built our house and Finucane installed our flooring. In 2 and a half years I don't think you should have to pay someone to come pull up tile and replace it because the grout is cracking and the floor is moving under your feet as you walk. Now that we paid someone else to replace the entry way, that tile no longer moves. Once the kitchen began doing this as well we attempted to contact Finucane Flooring multiple times by phone leaving messages and they never returned any phone calls. I even sent e-mails including photos. Still no response. It will cost me thousands to pull up my kitchen floor to fix this problem. 315sq feet of tile in my Kitchen area that will need to be fixed. 42sq feet for the entry way I had to pay to have fixed. Not to mention my 3 bathrooms they tiled my laundry room and my bar area. Is the tile going to do this in all of these areas now as well? Our home is brand new and what a mess Finucane has caused us to start our family in our new home. I don't even know how to put into words how disappointed I am. Honestly this whole situation just made me want to cry. This is way more to fix than our family can afford. So if you don't want to pay someone else to later fix their work hire someone else in the first place. Update: Since the original posting, our bathroom started leaking into the finished basement. The master bathroom floor and guest bath started cracking. Below are the pictures of the master bath shower that had to be fixed. There was extensive mold issue and rotting in the master shower because there wasn't the rubber pan under the shower seat. The general contractor suggested there needs to be one but Finucane did not put it in. There is also tile floor cracking in the laundry room.
