This company is beyond unethical. They make false claims, do crappy work and are very unprofessional. They took a deposit from us last summer and planned to complete the job in spring of 2020. They sold us under the understanding that they were a reputable company with an A+ rating with the BBB. They aren't even accredited. This spring when we began calling them the numbers were no longer valid and the website is down. David V. who we were able to track down said they are no longer owned by the same people and that there is nothing he can do about our deposit unless we have the job completed. (He claims all of the material had been purchased for our job...however, no one has been to our house since the original sales guy (Randy) who says he has nothing to do with the material side...we never gave them colors and we were never scheduled. David has sine said he will no longer respond to us. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY A DEPOSIT

The salesman that I worked with was Randall (Randy) C. and the project leader was David V. I have a 2 story house with cedar siding and hired Rhino Shield to paint all exterior siding. All trim was one color, all siding another color. The first paint crew seemed to know what they were doing and everything was going well until the first time the crew leader (Raul) told me they were done and asked that I walk around the house to verify that the work was satisfactory. This is when things started to go downhill. At first glance, everything seemed fine. As I took my time to look things over, I started to see just how poorly the job was done. There were numerous areas where the trim color was over sprayed onto the main body color. There were numerous areas that were never properly prepped/scraped. And there were just as many areas that were never even painted. The worst areas were anyplace that a person would have to bend over or get on their knees or even lay down to do the work. I pointed out a lot of the mistakes to Raul and he and his crew started fixing them. Or so I thought. This went on two more times before Raul and his crew were kicked off the job and supposedly fired from the company. During this entire time, the paint crew managed to break a basement window, crush a roof vent, trample plants, damage my decorative block patio, discolored areas of my driveway with chemicals used to clean up paint, got paint on my new garage doors & weather stripping, and damaged my deck by not protecting it from over spray or their ladders. During this time, I had been in constant contact with David V. I had sent him pictures as well as showed him everything in person. David assured me that Rhino Shield would cover the cost to repair everything as well as get a second crew out there to fix the poor work of the first crew. A couple weeks later another one man "crew" (Daniel) showed up. This worker redid almost everything that the first crew had done. It became very evident that the first crew had not done the proper amount of prep work that was required on my house. Once again, at first everything was going well. When Daniel told me he was done, I started to do a walk around to look at the finished product. It was the same issue as with the first crew. There were areas that were never prepped or scraped, and there were areas that were never painted. You could see areas of bare wood that were never primed. There were areas where the original stain was flaking off. This became extremely frustrating as I had gone around the entire house, both stories, and marked all the problem areas with painters tape. All the crews had to do, was fix the areas that were marked out. In most cases, it looked like they just took the tape off and just spread a little paint on. In all, I was told on six different occasions that the job was complete, three times by both crews. It wasn't until the sixth time that it seemed like everything was finally done the way I was told it would be done at the beginning of this project. All this time, David V kept assuring me that all the damage that was done to my property would be taken care of. He offered me a 10% discount off the contract price as a way to apologize for all the issues, and also stated in writing that I would be reimbursed for all items damaged. I had submitted emails, pictures, texts, receipts of the items I had repaired right away, and quotes for the items that still needed to be fixed. At the end of the job, it was requested that I sign a letter stating that I agree that the work had been completed. I agreed to sign the letter, but only if it was noted that I would be reimbursed for all damaged items. David put this in writing, listed everything out, then he and I both signed and initialed the letter. Shortly after this, I received the final quote which was to repair my deck and hand railing. My deck is built with Azek deck material which is a PVC decking material. All the areas that were not protected from over spray, and the areas that were scratched up from workers dragging their ladders across the deck, needed to be replaced. As the deck is made with a PVC material, the over spray can not be scraped off without causing further damage and the scratches cannot be buffed out. After David & Rhino Shield received the quotes, they completely changed their tune and refused to pay for any of the repairs. Instead they felt that it would be fair to offer me an additional 10% discount off my contract price for a total of 20% off. This may sound like a good deal on paper, but the cost to repair my deck and railing, is more than the cost of the entire paint job. Even though I have signed documents from them stating they will reimburse me the cost of the repairs, they are refusing to do anything. I should also note that their contract states that the will "Mask and shield all windows, doors, roofs, lawn, shrubs, decking, and patios to prevent over-spraying". So not only did they not follow their own contract, but they refuse to honor their signed document stating the reimbursement. When I brought this up in an email to David V, he replied that he would no longer be replying to emails and threatened to put a lien on my house if I did not pay. He stated that I signed the completion documents and that I was required to pay immediately. I reminded him that he also signed the completion document and that it was noted on the document that Rhino Shield would reimburse me for all the damage done to my property. He never responded to that, just reminded me that payment was due, or a lien would be put on my home. I've included some pictures of what I was told was a finished product and a couple showing the over spray on my deck. Do yourself a favor, before looking into this company, do an internet search for Rhino Shield complaints.

We interviewed many painting contractors to paint the exterior of our house. Rhino Shield was the only one to make an appointment and showed up on time. The first representative drew up a contract and included everything we wanted done in writing and established a price. The installation crew chief called ahead and arrived on time. The first visit involved a walk around reviewing the contract and an explanation of the work to be done each day of the project. The work crew was extremely professional and did a first class job from preparation to cleanup. The improvement to the house appearance is impressive. I would highly recommend Rhino Shield to anyone there is no need to look to anyone else. Lee and Barb, Walworth

House looks beautiful! We had existing siding that we were not replacing or painting and the color match RS did with the rest of the house is perfect! We had the entire front of the house done and all trim, soffits, facia boards, garage access door, step going into house by patio, etc. done. We were not a large job, but they worked us into their schedule a full month before we thought the work would be done.
