Chris came to the house to look over the proposed job and develop a cost estimate.  He discussed the job with me, listened to my concerns and explained how the job would proceed.  Within a few days, he sent me a detailed proposal.  He worked with me on the timing of the job, since I wanted to wait until several months later after the summer growing season, to avoid damage to garden beds around the house.  He dropped off samples of roof shingles, rain gutter colors and vinyl siding for the dormers that looked like real cedar shingles.
Due to an exceptionally rainy fall, work began a little later than originally planned, but they finished in the number of days that Chris had originally said the job would likely take.  The roofers worked in a very professional and efficient manner and cleaned up incredible amounts of debris from two layers of old roofing at the end of every day.  They did a good job of protecting some shrubs that I had been worried about.  Since the garage roof was not visible from the inside of the garage when Chris came over to make up the estimate, he was not aware of the rotted boards in the garage roof.  Fortunately, he was not badly hurt when he fell through, and he only charged me extra for the materials required to repair and strengthen the garage roof.  Overall, they did a great job and the roof, gutters, and dormer siding look beautiful.
