Cwe Renovations got 90% of the money from July8th and August 12 of 2024 payments, and said it would be completed around October 2024. They have lacked with communication tremendously with little to no work completed. This project is still not completed and it with so many issues apon the way. Stairs are uneven and support Collums have had to be replaced twice due to using untreated wood. When mentioned about trex deck screws breaking I would get excuses of them snapping bc a ladder adding pressure. I only found the bottoms of 2 out of 14 screws actually snapped. I am lucky if I get a response back and haven't heard anything since beginning of July 2025 about my project and almost 2 months with no work done. I also would get complaints about the weather and waiting on materials with no updates. This is not a professional company what so ever and regret trusting them with this project. This is for a duplex porch and upper deck rebuild. Now I need to find out how to get my money back.

DO NOT HIRE CWE RENOVATIONS Dan started off strong communicating, reassuring, and providing details. Then he disappeared! I hired CWE in January for a partial basement renovation that was supposed to be completed mid May. Originally the scope included full bath, but he was unable to nail down his plumber to do the work. That was his excuse for months of delays. I removed plumbing from scope and decided to hire my own plumber. CWE was going to move forward with the remaining work, excluding plumbing. Now I have overpaid CWE for work since original scope included plumbing. I received a letter from the electrician that he has not paid their invoice! The HVAC subcontractor did not pull a permit, and Dan will not provide the info so I can followup. Dan is not responding to my emails, text messages and phone calls. Also not responding to the electrician. Looks like he may have left the state. Do not hire CWE. Now I need to figure out how to get my money back and hire someone new to finish.

I hired them to remodel a small bathroom. The work they did was good, however, 5 months later I?m now getting a notice of a lien against my home because he didn?t pay the electrical subcontractor. I didn?t ask for lien waivers so I don?t have those to show. He?s not returning calls or emails now, and has disappeared.

I had several questions that were promptly addressed as well as requests to make small modifications to the original plan. I had 20+ years to plan this project and I still failed to do everything I wanted to do. Dan did his best to make sure there was nothing overlooked by me.

Our experience with CWE Renovations has been marked by a troubling lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer service. Despite having a comprehensive record of issues spanning nine pages, Iâ ll summarize the key points here to provide a clear picture of why we strongly advise against using this contractor. Project Timeline and Delays: We were initially given an estimated completion timeline of approximately 12 weeks for our basement renovation. Contrary to this, the project has now extended well beyond 18 weeks. We were assured on two separate occasions (6/27 and 7/11) that only two weeks of work remained. Unfortunately, scheduling has been disorganized, with no clear plan to ensure tasks are completed consecutively. For instance, the electrician's work remains pending with no definitive schedule, and the carpet installation, scheduled for August 19th, was delayed due to the contractorâ s failure to arrange for measurement until July 26th (despite us inquiring about this since 6/27). Communication and Accountability Issues: Our attempts to gather accurate information and resolve issues have gone ignored. We discovered discrepancies when we contacted Waste Management regarding the pickup of our bagsters, only to find no record of an order. Additionally, a metal rack has been left for 2.5 weeks in our driveway due to the contractorâ s failure to follow up with Home Depot immediately upon it being left behind by mistake. More concerning, we found that the electrician listed on our permit had no involvement with our project. Upon investigation, we learned that the permit was improperly filed under a business' name, and the electrician ,who worked for the business, was only working on our project as a side job, potentially jeopardizing their professional standing. Overall Experience: The most disappointing aspect has been the lack of communication and ownership. We are left with an incomplete basement and are now seeking a refund for the portions of the project that have not been completed as promised. Given these significant issues, we strongly recommend avoiding CWE Renovations for any renovation projects. Our experience underscores serious concerns regarding their reliability and commitment to customer satisfaction. Everything incomplete as 8/12 (18 weeks after the start date with a 12 week estimate): â ¢ Electrician to finish outlets, lights, light switches, etc (no eta) â we paid for on 7/30 â ¢ Carpet Installed (given a date of 8/19 which is completely unacceptable when we have been asking about this since 6/27) â we paid for on 7/30 requesting this refunded since Carpet Installation Guy does not want to work with Dan and quoted us almost half to install â ¢ Trim completed around stairs and in bathroom - Paid â ¢ Metal Rack Removed from Doors (Offered to reach out myself since Dan doesnâ t seem to have any urgency in it) -Requesting Dan cover the cost to remove on 8/15 â ¢ Garbage Removed (two bagsters) â We paid for on 2/26 â ¢ Door Installed over the breaker box â ¢ Lien Waivers from Plumber, HVAC, Electrician â ¢ Railing on the stairs (which we have made clear we do not want this in until carpet is installed so we can get our couch downstairs) â Paid on 4/12 invoice

We wanted to create a lower level living space in our home, which included a family room and en-suite bedroom as well as having storage closets for easy access to seasonal items. It was very important to us to have the lower level continue the feel of the main floor, including drywall, color, and trim. We looked at three companies carefully and selected CWE Renovations. CWE owner Dan Nikitovic understood our budget and created a plan with a detailed expense projection that gave us an opportunity to enhance what we thought would fit our vision. Dan and his crew were outstanding from the beginning of our project to the final touch-ups to make the job perfect. From the early planning stage, through the adjustments that we asked for, and on to the end, Dan and his two lead carpenters were able to guide us in common sense approaches to the carpentry, HVAC, plumbing and electrical installations. Based on our experience, we plan to use CWE for a second project in the coming year. We have no regrets in choosing CWE Renovations and can highly recommend Dan and his company.

I was happy with the overall product. Weâ ve had a number of projects done in our home (and our previous house), and they are never perfect, but this one was by far our best experience. With previous renovations, Iâ ve had times where I couldnâ t even get a hold of the contractor. We never had that problem with CWE. There was one time hold-up, but that was due to materials delivery. For the most part, the project was completed in a very timely manner. The team was professional. They cleaned up after themselves and were always in communication with us. There were a few changes in the overall bill, but we did make some add-ons along the way, so that was to be expected. All-in-all we are very happy with both the process and the product.

Dan was very informative about how to raise the quality and value of my home during our initial walk through. He treated our home as if it were his by explaining what he would do, not selling anything, while keeping in mind our vision and budget. Overall a great experience, would recommend and use them again

Bad customer service. Gave wrong charges on sq ft calculations by thousands of dollars. CWE did not work well with us. When asked to do repairs or questioned, CWE is very defensive and puts the blame on customer or others. Example: he was not putting insulation in between drywall of laundry room and bedroom. He never told me. He assumed I knew. When I asked about it he said, well it was not included in price so gonna charge you for it plus not putting up drywall in laundry so more charges. In the beginning, I asked CWE to sit down with me to go over more details of the whole project, he says something like, what is there to plan? You told me the design and layout and I make it like that. CWE said it will take them 1-2months to finish but realistically, it took them over 4 months. Not good on their word. They should just say 2-4 months or more. That is just plain false! CWE started out strong with framing but took more than a month to line up electrician and HVAC to do 2-3 days worth of job. After that everything slowed down. Waited for materials for weeks to be delivered. Crew came here and there. Some days they never come but CWE does not communicate days they are working and not working. Drywall was not done excellent. I had an expert do inspection of drywall. It needed repairs. CWE did not want to do repairs. So, I had to hired another person to repair CWE imperfections and mud and finish the job. After that CWE owner never came to do the work but only sends his crew out. CWE owner never came back to inspect crews work after each project. I had to always take pictures for CWE owner to see the repairs needed. I complained about how long they taking and contractor blamed others for timeframe. CWE gets upset when I question them. He should line up all the work but instead in between projects, it took weeks to get materials and when crew came, sometimes they worked part-time only. Crew comes to house not looking happy. They seemed mad sometimes. CWE overcharge me for 1,850 sq ft of materials when my measurement was only 1,095 sq ft. I was overcharged over $2700 more than what it actually was. Installation sq ft charge was a different sq ft. All matrial and installation sq ft were all different mesaurements which did not makes sense. Toward the end, CWE became unresponsive to our inquiries. They did not respond to our text either.
Response from CWE Renovations
"At CWE Renovations, we value all feedback, both positive and negative, as it allows us to continuously improve our quality of work, and our processes. Renovations often become emotional for the client as living situations are temporarily turned upside down. We do our best however to communicate up front, and along the way, so everything is as smooth as possible. To address a few points on the client?s comment: Prior to commencing project, it was explained that there could be delays when it came to city inspections (which happened). Unfortunately, this idea was dismissed by the client. The expectation was an ideal timeline that did not account for any delays. There was one instance of a delay with material delivery. Such delays are beyond our control. Another reason for the project delay was the continuous requests for task changes. Prior to the start of a project, a timeline is proposed, and specialists are scheduled according to the best of our ability. As this client removed tasks from our schedule, to have a family member (whom they are referring to as the ?outside expert?) complete some work instead of us, we best utilized the time to address other jobs in our pipeline, ultimately throwing off our scheduled timeline. On a principal basis we do not mind if a client wants to make changes, and we try to accommodate our clients? Needs. However, this creates scheduling pressure on our staff. I tried to be clear in communicating that this would cause scheduling issues when needed to come back on the project. This was again dismissed by the client. Concerning charges, after an initial visit to a project site we provide a comprehensive estimate. The estimate is based on a set of assumptions, since we are essentially starting with an empty shell. We then make tweaks until a final proposal is accepted by the client. It was the same in the case of this client, however after the project started there were a few more changes made to the original proposal. The numbers being referred to here are estimate numbers. The client was not charged for anything that was not installed. Once installed, any quantities that needed adjustments were adjusted, and payment was based on quantities that were agreed to. We regret that this became a particularly hard project on both the CWE and the client. The staff and subcontractors for CWE were unhappy due to working conditions that they feel were created by the client. They felt distracted and met with continuous tweaks and questions unrelated to the task at hand. As professionals they finished their work but were happy to move on to the other projects. While I personally do not mind answering questions and providing additional information to clients, outside contractors (HVAC, Electrical) and staff often find this to be a significant distraction that slows them down. Once more, I would like to thank you for your feedback and to wish you and your family all the best going forward."
