Better Living Center installed our home theater system 5 years ago.
Being new homeowners, we've trusted that Tom, the owner, from 'Better Living Center' would have enough experience to make sure that everything was properly installed. It was a mistake.
Central Vacuum System main unit was installed in the basement instead of the garage as most of them are. All the dust and dirt from the unit was vented inside the basement. Imagine the basement being covered with dust every time you vacuum the house. We ended up hiring a different contractor to run a pipe for dirt to be vented outside once the basement was finished. The vacuum cleaner broke after 4 years and Better Living Center was not willing to check it or recommend what to do.
The receiver and DVD player was put in one central location in a small closet. There are a lot of wiring that go nowhere with absolutely no labeling or any indication what they are for Also knowing that the HDMI was the future - there were no HDMI cables installed and this was called professional installation.
Receiver broke after 5 years and Tom was not willing to come out to take a look and install a new receiver that we've purchased. After multiple emails, phone calls for an estimate on what it would take - the email stated: and quot;I am not interested to install your receiver and you can find some other contractors in your areaand quot;. This is the treatment you'll get after he makes his money. Tom and his wife Donna are very arrogant, not customer friendly people.

Doorbell Fon broke after 2 years of installation. Universal remote broke after one year of installation, the remote for a master bedroom never really worked.
It is obvious that things break, but it would be great to be able to have a contractor who can provide you with an estimate what it would take to replace/repair or re-install the units. 5 years after the initial installation, we don't have a TV (since it was connected through the receiver), vacuum cleaner or door bell operational and 'Better Living Centerand quot; answer and quot; I am not interested to install - please find somebody elseand quot;.

Provide and install blu-ray player and provide and program universal remote for entire home theater system.

First time he missed the appointment because of a snow storm which is understandable, but he never called me to cancel. I left messages 3 times on their answering machine for them to call me back and I took time off of work waiting for his arrival. I had to call him the next day and he finally answered the phone so we could re-book the appointment. He came the following day on time and "Kyle" did very good work and fixed the problem for me. Kyle is a young, friendly, college student, and appears to know what he's doing. He indicated he has never had any formal training on system set ups, and he said that he learned almost everything on his own and by doing his friends stereo's. I'm not sure of his ability to do a large, complicated stereo system set up on his own, however he and the crew (there's 3 of them) just did Maddux's (Brewers Manager) million $$ house which I have heard is very complicated.

Better Living Center did work for us 5 years ago when we built our home and we were extremely happy with their work then so when we decided to put in surround sound last December they were the company that we wanted. Did a wonderful job and we love our new surround system. After they were done with the installation they made sure we knew exactly how to work the system.
