We contacted Astrith(Pronounced "Astrid") on the Monday of our trip (We were leaving Thursday), after finding out that our friend that normally takes care of our cats had to back out. She was pleasant to talk to on the phone and scheduled a visit with us for the following day. She was quite flexible on schedule in order to make sure it would work for us. During the initial interview she talked with us about our three cats, their food (she identified the dry food brand by sight with no bag/label present), and any of their special needs. We talked over our cat's need for pills twice a day, as well as where food was, how much they get, what sort of water is used for the cats and so-on. She took multiple pages of notes as we talked. She also stated that she would continue the service until we notified her that we returned - thus if there were any issues with our flights the cats would still be fed until we got home. While we were gone on vacation she contacted us a few times via text message, sending pictures of our cats and just letting us know they were doing well. It definitely let us continue to enjoy the vacation without being concerned about how our kitties were doing. Upon coming home our cats seemed to be less stressed and happier than previous trips when our friends have taken care of them. The food dishes and litter boxes were clean and their water bowl was full. We are so happy about this experience and Astrith's service that we fully intend to just go directly to her in the future rather than even asking our friends. Price was total for 9 visits - we live fairly close to her, so there may have been a 'close proximity' discount.

Astrith was great and we'll definitely use her again. She had the time, patience, and confidence to work with one of our dogs who is shy and skittish around strangers. She spent the time needed to earn Michi's trust. She updated us regularly, which was important for our peace of mind. She was very thorough and proactive to make sure she knew exactly how best to care for our dogs and she checked in whenever she had a question or problem.

When Astrith came over to meet us, she asked many questions about our dogs and took copious notes. She knew exactly what questions to ask and left nothing uncovered. We could tell she knew and understood about dachshunds and their personalities because of the questions she asked. When she asked what vet clinic we used, she even knew the names of every vet in our vet clinic! She said we could contact her at any time to see how the dogs were doing. We texted her two or three times the week we were gone, and each time she answered us within a very short period of time. In fact, she even sent several photos of the dogs!
When we returned, she came by to drop off our keys and spent 10 minutes telling us about how things went. Apparently one of our dogs was stand-offish the first couple of times she visited and wouldn't go outside to do his duty. She was a bit worried and came back sooner than normal to try to get him to go out, since he had not done his duty for quite a long time. On the third visit, he was accustomed to her and finally went out, and then became her good friend. Our point in telling this is that she did not panic and contact us right away so that we would worry, but kept at it until the problem was resolved. However, we could tell that if there were indeed an emergency, she would definitely have contacted us right away.
Astrith also said she ended up staying longer than the contracted time on quite a few occasions just because she wanted to give them some added attention, but she did not ask for more money or even insinuate that we should pay her more. We could tell she did this because she genuinely loves animals.
Astrith told us that she even provides dog sitting visits on very short notice, if she is available. For example, if we were out and found we couldn't get home in time from a day trip, we could contact her and see if she could pop in and let the dogs out. This is a great service to provide!
Astrith was very detail oriented and conscientious. Her experience enables her to ask the right questions, and cover the important aspects of providing temporary pet care. She accommodated our specific pet care requests very well. Our dogs were happy and appeared well cared for upon our return. Because we were so pleased with her services, we decided to give her a tip although it definitely was not required, and she at first did not want to take it. (The tip is not included in the amount listed above under and quot;Approximately how much did you spend?and quot;)
We will definitely use Astrith again for pet sitting. She's a real gem!

I contacted Astrith when I learned that I would be staying 6 hours away for several days while completing an internship. Even though it was only a week or so notice, she was able to take care of my 2 cats. She came every day to feed and water my cats, clean the litter boxes, and spent time playing with them. I have used Astrith's Animal Care before and am very happy with their service!

Before the date of the service, I called Astrith because I was concerned about the upcoming heatwave. We both agreed that my dog would not do well in the heat and to only take him out just to relieve himself, but no walk. On the date of the service, I received a wonderful text message letting me know that all went well (which put my mind at ease being the over-protective dog owner that I am). When I got home, there was even a note on the counter stating that all went well. It's great to know that I now have a trusted dog sitter that I can depend on with ease of mind.

Astrith walks my dog several times per week. I use her for house/pet sitting on a regular basis. She also is great about transporting my dog to/from the vet, day care, etc.

Astrith and Pam watched my house and my pets while I was out of town for 10 days. They were fantastic! My menagerie includes 3 cats and -- at the time -- a geriatric Golden Retriever. The dog was old and had health issues. Astrith and Pam couldn't have been more caring, thorough, and professional. They made sure the necessary meds were on hand and administered, and performed needed ear-cleaning, etc. admirably.

I was completely comfortable with leaving my dear pets in their care, and will definitely be using their services again. I highly recommends them.

Pam has always provided excellent care for the dogs and taken good care of the house. In May we had to have her care for a sick dog while we were out of town and she did a wonderful job. She provided updates on the dog's condition several times a day. The dogs always seem to be happy to see Pam and always seem as tho they have gotten plenty of exercise and attention. She has been very accomodating of our requests and even "emergency visits". I highly recommend Pam and Astrith's Animal Care and House sitting.

I have the utmost confidence and comfort with their services

The first time we used them they ran a little late but she did call. The last time we had her she was on time and called ahead to make sure everything was on schedule. We dealt with Astrith and she is very professional. She showed concern with our dog and did a great job. We would use her services again.

It went extremely well. At this point I have no criticisms at all.
I should add that the price was far more reasonable than the service I previously used.

Astrith and Pam took great care of my "babies." I had been planning a vacation for weeks when one of my cats began having problems with bladder stones. She needed surgery right away and I was scheduled to leave in a week. Looking for a pet sitter, I contacted Astrith's Animal Care and spoke with Astrith. Even at such short notice, she was able to accommodate my needs. She and her associate, Pam, came over to meet my cats and they asked lots of questions about caring for my cats. They also answered my questions as well. While I was gone, they came in to feed my cats, give meds, clean the litter boxes, and play with them. One of my cats is very scared of other people and the other needed extra care because of her surgery. Normal visits were 30 min, but several times, they stayed longer to see that both cats were ok. They also stayed in contact with me and kept me updated daily on how my babies were doing. Knowing that my babies were in good hands allowed me to worry less and to enjoy my vacation.

Wonderful! Pam (our sitter at this company) is the best pet sitter we have ever had, in our 20 years of using such a service. She is wonderfully affectionate with our pets, and spends real time with them, not just coming to drop some food in a bowl and leave. She also sends us daily emails to let us know that everything is OK, which is a very comforting thing when one is traveling. She and Astrith truly understand what it means to be a pet owner, and so they know what it takes to be the highest quality pet sitters. They love animals, and they treat your pets as they would their own.
