The install went very smoothly and the technician was extremely knowledgeable. The only thing I would suggest is to be prepared to sit around the hours for a couple of hours because the Pulse Select can take a while to install.... I really do like this system. Love being able to set the alarm from ANYWHERE (i.e. the grocery store, the mall, anywhere inside the house). ADT Pulse is light years better than anything that Brinks had.
Would definitely choose this service again!
The ADT Pulse system is wireless and has nice features like remote access/control of the system via iPhone apps. When alarm has been triggered the monitoring call center has responded.
In terms of price, ADT is on the high end when comparing to other competitors. By the time we added additional sensors needed it cost several thousand dollars. The monthly monitoring is VERY high at $50+ when competition seems to be between $10 and $30/mo. Be warned that the contract that you sign is for 3 years and the termination fee is 80% of the remaining contract.
Customer service after the initial sale has proven to be very poor. We are moving to a new house and have tried to contact ADT about moving the system or cancelling the contract. There has been no response after multiple calls to various national and local numbers and an email request. The conclusion drawn is that commission is paid up front in the process and sales has no motivation or interest to provide any assistance after that initial transaction. I will likely terminate the contract and there is no one on the ADT team that even seems to care - possible just happy to take the up front dollars (commission) and the termination fee. This doesn't seem like a good sustainable business practice.
