I had a 10$ reduction of our monthly bill. I have a nice neighborhood but had 3 break ins in the last year and a half. I have the doors and windows covered. The previous owners of the condo had so I kept using them. Their price is excellent and I have no problems with the equipment. I got my questions answered. I do not have a contract with them.

When I cancelled the service I had to fight them for 4 months to get the refund for over payment. They were extremely rude all through the process. They also took another payment (3 months) out of my checking account long after the service was cancelled. They changed their story at least three times about what the problem was. I contacted Angies List for help. Recently I finally got my refund and while I have no idea whether the complaint though Angies List had any effect my negative review was deleted and I have been invited to give them an A or B review by Angies List. I will not do so since the behavior of ADT is inexcusable. I am also very disappointed in Angies List because I do think a follow up to say it was resolved is appropriate, I think it should be a follow up to the original problem.

I have had ADT services for 24 years. They are very good. I have never had a problem. If the alarm goes off they call you and if  nobody answers the phone they send the police. Two weeks ago, the alarm went off about 10:30 at night and the police showed up. They called and I said we do not have a fire here so do not sen the Fire Department, but it was too late. They had already sent the Fire Department. Then I had ADT come and the man checked the service and what not then we decided to update it. About two nights later, it went off about 1:20 in the morning and I said do not call the police, do not call the Fire Department. The man was here and he did not leave until 2:30. He was here 8 until 2:30. He was working the whole time. He got everything all set and ready. It is ready. It was worth it. I did not care what it cost. I can leave the house without worrying whether somebody is breaking in, just be on the safe side. I had no problems.

fWe were Brinks/Broadview customers that recently go switched over to ADT because we wanted to purchase the Pulse System.  When we called initially to set up the appointment, the salesperson was a "no show".  He then called a week later and said he was on his way for our appointment.  I told him that he should have been there a week ago, not today and that I was not home.  I agreed to meet him, and he made it worth our while.  We got the entire Pulse Select System with camera monitoring AND switched over to the cellular network instead of having it monitored via a home phone for a great price.  I was quoted a price of 3x that on the phone. 
The install went very smoothly and the technician was extremely knowledgeable.  The only thing I would suggest is to be prepared to sit around the hours for a couple of hours because the Pulse Select can take a while to install....  I really do like this system.  Love being able to set the alarm from ANYWHERE (i.e. the grocery store, the mall, anywhere inside the house).  ADT Pulse is light years better than anything that Brinks had. 
Would definitely choose this service again!

I've been a customer of ADT for several years.  Because of a job change, I have to move rather quickly to another state.  Until I can find a suitable residence, I will be moving in with my brother.  I called ADT and made it clear I did not want to totally cancel my service, but that I needed to suspend it until I can establish a place of my own.  I was told that was impossible, and that I would have to cancel and incur the cancellation fee.  I was charged over $1300 for cancellation of my 3 year contract.  Not only does this create a financial hardship for me, but it ensures that I, nor anyone in my sphere of influence will ever be an ADT customer.  But, just like all large corporations, I'm sure the hardships of one or even a few customers is of no importance whatsoever to them.

They are a large company, so it is challenging getting to the department you need, but once you get there, they will help you. They have good prices and good customer service.

As mentioned above, when I called to schedule an appointment I was told I could get a Saturday morning appointment to check for a possible malfunction in a motion detector. A week or two later I received a call from a service tech on a weekday morning saying he was on the way to my house to check out the problem. However, I had never been notified of the appointment and was at work. I once again requested Saturday morning appointment, was told someone would call me when that was scheduled. A month or so later I still have not heard from ADT. Another persistent problem is the alarm system sounding off a loss of connection alert, usually at 1:30 or 3:30 AM. After around 6 of these in the last 10 days, I finally had time to call customer service today. The woman who answered the phone said the problem was the satellite or whatever like that solved the problem! I said I don't care what the technical problem was, I wanted the alert to STOP. She said she would 'reset' the system, I followed her instructions, and she said a confirmation beep would signal the completion of the reset. This was supposed to take 30 seconds. After about 2 minutes with no confirmation beep the line suddenly went dead. I waited for the customer service agent to call me back. After another 3 minutes the confirmation beep finally came though and I called customer service again. The man I talked to said that the previous agent had called me back but had gotten my voice mail (there is no record of this return call on my cell phone, and no message). He then said it was normal for a phone call to be disconnected when resetting the alarm (my cell phone has absolutely NO connection to the alarm system). I told him I didn't believe him. He then asked to review the information on my emergency back-up phone numbers. Three years ago I updated that information and removed a name of a friend who lives across the city. They still have that person listed as my emergency back-up. There seems to be nothing at all that this company can do competently. For $48 per month this is the service I'm getting. Even though it will cost to start with another company, I have lost all confidence in the competency of ADT as a service provider, and I'm looking for a new company.

I think they are way over priced for what I get. I cannot afford the key fab service, which is what attracted me to the company. I cannot afford to replace the key fab, but I still am paying for the service.

They showed up when they were suppose to both for sales and installation. They mounted something in different places than I thought and I wasn't expecting it. I would say it was just an ok experience. At the end of the day they did what they said but I was still a little frustrated. I thought it was a little expensive. I did not receive an itemized invoice from them.

I think they have a branch in Milwaukee. I never go to them rather they come out to me. The alarm system is good at work. It seems to be fairly reliable. Occasionally there were few clutches. The company is easy to work with. The checks that they send out are not always up to date. There was a time when during the installation where they knew never how to run the wire down from the kitchen to the basement and the electricians who were working there at the same time had to show them. I would use them again in the future.

I don't like them. They are supposed to call our numbers, and if they don't reach us, call back up numbers. They called the backup numbers looking for us but didn't mention that there was an alarm. So, the police came, of course. That is not the protocol that Brinks had. Brinks sold their alarm security business to ADT, and their service has changed since they did that. Instead of calling the backup numbers to say there's been an alarm, they called and asked if they knew where we were. Of course, they didn't know where we were. We were never told until we got a note from the police. The backup numbers didn't know why ADT was calling. Their service is mediocre.

It's not cameras.  If the windows would be open from the outside or something the alarm would go off.  They also do the maintenance.  I have been using them for a long time.  I pay them monthly.  My experience with them has been fine.  I haven't had any problems with the alarm.  At one time they came to replace a certain type of battery in the units.  Those were back-up batteries that were probably eight years old.  Otherwise I haven't had them come out here very frequently.

Initial consultation/sales call went well and the company representative took time to understand our needs and was knowledgeable on the product. The installation was done quickly and the installers were competent and professional. There was some initial hardware failure (sensors that did not work) but they were replaced in matter of days. The only sales/install complaint is that some of the sensors that go on the doors and windows are large and ugly/obtrusive. I think there are slim sensors and built-in door sensors that in retrospect the consultant should have recommended.

The ADT Pulse system is wireless and has nice features like remote access/control of the system via iPhone apps. When alarm has been triggered the monitoring call center has responded.

In terms of price, ADT is on the high end when comparing to other competitors. By the time we added additional sensors needed it cost several thousand dollars. The monthly monitoring is VERY high at $50+ when competition seems to be between $10 and $30/mo. Be warned that the contract that you sign is for 3 years and the termination fee is 80% of the remaining contract.

Customer service after the initial sale has proven to be very poor. We are moving to a new house and have tried to contact ADT about moving the system or cancelling the contract. There has been no response after multiple calls to various national and local numbers and an email request. The conclusion drawn is that commission is paid up front in the process and sales has no motivation or interest to provide any assistance after that initial transaction. I will likely terminate the contract and there is no one on the ADT team that even seems to care - possible just happy to take the up front dollars (commission) and the termination fee. This doesn't seem like a good sustainable business practice.

I moved into a new house and the previous owner had ADT so I thought it would be an easy process to have ADT as my security system.  When I called to inquire about the service, I was met with a very high pressure sales person (after being on hold for 15 - 20 minutes - I tired several times before finally getting in touch with a person).   After talking with the high pressure sales person, we scheduled a time for a tech to come to my new home and install a WEB based system where I could access everything via the internet.   The day before the install, ADT called to see if I could move up my install time as they stated they had a cancellation so I agreed thinking I could get this out of the way.   Needless to say, the tech was not informed and he was 4 hours past the revised time.       When he finally arrived, he did not have the correct system I had asked to be installed which delayed the install by another hour as he went to the the other system.  After a 2 hour install, the system which was bigger and more difficult to use than my previous system, it was done... so I thought.  Of course, they charged my credit card immediately for the install and I had to pay for 1 month in advanced.  As I was waiting around I did go on the ADT site and saw they were offering install gift cards so I inquired about receiving one and then that took another 30 minutes. I finally recevied a confirmation code to get one of the gift cards.    So I thought I was done. I was provided a web site (www.ADT.com) where I could sign up and start monintoring my system from the WEB and on my Android Phone.   I'm tech savvy, but no where on the www.ADT.com site could I find how to monitor my system or assign different people security codes.  So I called the customer service number (on hold for 8 minutes), she could not help me so I had to be transferred to the "techincal support" group (on hold for another 15 minutes).   When I finally got through, it must have been the person's first night on the job as every question I asked, he had to put me on hold and talk with someone.   After an additional 15 mintues on the phone,  I found out ADT   DID NOT INSTALL THE CORRECT SYSTEM AND I DO NOT HAVE THE ACCESS TO THE WEB AS PROMISED.       At this point, I asked to speak with a local person, in person and was provided an 1-800 number that put you in a endless cycle of options.  At this point, I just want money back, and the system to be removed and I will go with Vector Security who I had at my other house.  They were quick, professional, sold me the correct product and answered their phone within seconds.

The process of setting up the alarm system was good. They came out for a free evaluation. There were two technicians who came out, and they did an excellent job. They had a couple of issues with the existing system, which they replaced and repaired for free. I pay $35 for monthly monitoring. I would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.
